In the second month on the fourteenth day at twilight, they shall celebrate it; they shall eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.

For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,

“ I have heard the grumblings of the sons of Israel; speak to them, saying,‘ At twilight you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread; and you shall know that I am the Lord your God.’ ”

“ In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, you shall have the Passover, a feast of seven days; unleavened bread shall be eaten.

Now the Lord spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying,“ Now the sons of Israel are to celebrate the Passover at its appointed time.On the fourteenth day of this month, at twilight, you shall celebrate it at its appointed time; you shall celebrate it in accordance with all its statutes and all its ordinances.”

Then the entire assembly of them set out and brought Him before Pilate.

And the crowd went up and began asking Pilate to do as he had been accustomed to do for them.

But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas, and to put Jesus to death.

On the first day there shall be a holy assembly; you shall do no laborious work.

But they cried out all together, saying,“ Away with this man, and release to us Barabbas!”

“ Observe the month of Abib and celebrate the Passover to the Lord your God, for in the month of Abib the Lord your God brought you out of Egypt by night.You shall sacrifice the Passover to the Lord your God from the flock and the herd, in the place where the Lord chooses to establish His name.You shall not eat leavened bread with it; for seven days you shall eat unleavened bread with it, the bread of affliction( for you came out of the land of Egypt in a hurry), so that you will remember the day when you came out of the land of Egypt all the days of your life.For seven days no leaven shall be seen with you in your entire territory, and none of the meat which you sacrifice on the evening of the first day shall be left overnight until the morning.You are not allowed to sacrifice the Passover in any of your towns which the Lord your God is giving you;but only at the place where the Lord your God chooses to establish His name, you shall sacrifice the Passover in the evening at sunset, at the time that you came out of Egypt.

this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death.

Early in the morning the chief priests with the elders, scribes, and the entire Council immediately held a consultation; and they bound Jesus and led Him away, and turned Him over to Pilate.

Now it was the third hour when they crucified Him.

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying,“ Eli, Eli, lema sabaktanei?” that is,“ My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”And some of those who were standing there, when they heard it, said,“ This man is calling for Elijah.”And immediately one of them ran, and taking a sponge, he filled it with sour wine and put it on a reed, and gave Him a drink.But the rest of them said,“ Let us see if Elijah comes to save Him.”And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and gave up His spirit.

When the sixth hour came, darkness fell over the whole land until the ninth hour.At the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice,“ Eloi, Eloi, lema sabaktanei?” which is translated,“ My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to ask him to release Barabbas for them instead.

All of us, like sheep, have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the Lord has caused the wrongdoing of us all To fall on Him.

But you disowned the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,
