At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn of the prisoner, who was in the dungeon, and the firstborn of all the livestock as well.

At midnight the Lord struck down every oldest son in Egypt. He killed the oldest son of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne. He killed all the oldest sons of prisoners. He also killed all the male animals born first to their mothers among the livestock.

At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of the livestock.

我對你說過：放我的兒子走，好事奉我。你還是不肯放他走。看哪，我要殺你頭生的兒子。』」

在埃及擊殺所有的長子，在含的帳棚中擊殺他們壯年時頭生的。

稱謝那擊殺埃及凡是頭生的，因他的慈愛永遠長存。

摩西說：「耶和華如此說：『約到半夜，我必出去走遍埃及。凡在埃及地，從坐寶座的法老到推磨的婢女所生的長子，以及一切頭生的牲畜，都必死。

因為以色列人中凡頭生的，無論是人或牲畜，都是我的。我在埃及地擊殺所有頭生的那日，已將他們分別為聖歸我。

那時，埃及人正埋葬他們的長子，就是耶和華在他們中間所擊殺的；耶和華也懲治了他們的眾神明。

因為那夜我要走遍埃及地，把埃及地一切頭生的，無論是人是牲畜，都擊殺了；我要對埃及所有的神明施行審判。我是耶和華。

一瞬間他們就死亡。百姓在半夜中被震動而去世；有權力的被奪去，非藉人手。

那時法老固執，不肯放我們走，耶和華就把埃及地所有頭生的，無論是人是牲畜，都殺了。因此，我把一切頭生的公的牲畜獻給耶和華為祭，卻將所有頭生的兒子贖出來。

因為凡頭生的是我的；我在埃及地擊殺所有頭生的那日，就把以色列中所有頭生的，無論是人或牲畜，都分別為聖歸我；他們定要屬我。我是耶和華。」

錫安哪，我因與你立約的血，要從無水坑裏釋放你中間被囚的人。

被擄的即將得釋放，不至於死而下入地府，也不致缺乏食物。

因着信，他設立逾越節，在門上灑血，免得那毀滅者加害以色列人的長子。

因為你們自己明明知道，主的日子來到會像賊在夜間突然來到一樣。人正說平安穩定的時候，災禍忽然臨到他們，如同陣痛臨到懷胎的婦人一樣，他們絕逃脫不了。

他們就拿住耶利米，把他丟在王的兒子瑪基雅的井裏；那口井在護衛兵的院中。他們用繩子把耶利米縋下去，井裏沒有水，只有淤泥，耶利米就陷在淤泥中。

第二天，耶和華行了這事。埃及的牲畜全都死了，只是以色列人的牲畜，一隻都沒有死。

他們必被聚集，像囚犯困在牢裏，他們被關在監獄，多日之後便受懲罰。

有名字記錄在天上眾長子的盛會，有審判眾人的上帝和成為完全的義人的靈魂，

這樣，他們用繩子將耶利米從井裏拉上來。耶利米仍在護衛兵的院中。
