At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn of the prisoner, who was in the dungeon, and the firstborn of all the livestock as well.

At midnight the Lord struck down every oldest son in Egypt. He killed the oldest son of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne. He killed all the oldest sons of prisoners. He also killed all the male animals born first to their mothers among the livestock.

At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of the livestock.

摩西说：“耶和华这样说：‘大约半夜的时候，我要出去巡行埃及地。在埃及地所有头生的都必死亡，就是从坐王位的法老的长子，直到推磨的婢女的长子，以及一切头生的牲畜都必死亡。

因为以色列人中所有头生的，连人带畜都是我的；我在埃及地击杀所有头生的那一天，就把他们分别为圣归我了。

那时，埃及人正在埋葬他们的长子，就是耶和华在他们中间击杀的，耶和华也对他们的神施行审判。

因为在那一夜我要走遍埃及地，把埃及地所有头生的，无论是人或是牲畜，都要杀掉；我也要审判埃及的一切神祇，我是耶和华。

他们在半夜之中剎那之间死亡，平民因遭受震动而去世，有权势的被除灭非借人手。

那时法老心里刚硬，不让我们离开，耶和华就把埃及地所有头生的，无论是人或是牲畜都杀了；所以，我把所有头生的公牲口都献给耶和华为祭；但我所有头生的儿子，却都要代赎回来。

因为所有头生的，都是我的；我在埃及地击杀所有头生的那天，就把以色列中所有头生的，无论人畜，都分别为圣归我；他们要归我，我是耶和华。”

锡安哪！至于你，因着我与你立约的血，我把你中间被囚禁的人从无水的坑里释放出来。

被掳的快得释放了，他们必不会死，必不会下到阴间里，他们的食物也必不会缺乏。

因着信，他立了逾越节和洒血的礼，免得那灭命的侵犯以色列人的长子。

因为你们自己清楚知道，主的日子来到，就像夜间的贼来到一样。人正在说平安稳妥的时候，毁灭性的灾祸就突然临到他们，好像生产的痛苦临到怀胎的妇人一样，他们绝不能逃脱。

他们就拿住耶利米，把他丢在王子玛基雅的井里，那井是在卫兵的院子里的；他们用绳子把耶利米缒下去。井里没有水，只有淤泥；耶利米就陷在淤泥中。

第二天，耶和华就行了这事，埃及人全部的牲畜都死了；可是属于以色列人的牲畜，一只也没有死去。

他们必被聚集，像囚犯被聚集在牢狱里一般；他们要被关在监牢中，多日以后，他们要被惩罚。

有名字登记在天上众长子的教会，有审判众人的神，有被成全的义人的灵魂，

于是他们用绳子把耶利米从井里拉出来；这样，耶利米可以住在卫兵的院子里。
