Then Moses sent for all the elders of Israel. He said to them,“ Go at once. Choose the animals for your families. Each family must kill a Passover lamb.

Then Moses called all the elders of Israel and said to them,“ Go and select lambs for yourselves according to your clans, and kill the Passover lamb.

Then Moses called all the elders of Israel together and said to them,“ Go, pick out a lamb or young goat for each of your families, and slaughter the Passover animal.

On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, when it was customary to sacrifice the Passover lamb, Jesus’ disciples asked him,“ Where do you want us to go and make preparations for you to eat the Passover?”So he sent two of his disciples, telling them,“ Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him.Say to the owner of the house he enters,‘ The Teacher asks: Where is my guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’He will show you a large room upstairs, furnished and ready. Make preparations for us there.”The disciples left, went into the city and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover.

“ Go, assemble the elders of Israel and say to them,‘ The Lord, the God of your fathers— the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob— appeared to me and said: I have watched over you and have seen what has been done to you in Egypt.

On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked,“ Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?”He replied,“ Go into the city to a certain man and tell him,‘ The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.’”So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.

They slaughtered the Passover lamb on the fourteenth day of the second month. The priests and the Levites were ashamed and consecrated themselves and brought burnt offerings to the temple of the Lord.Then they took up their regular positions as prescribed in the Law of Moses the man of God. The priests splashed against the altar the blood handed to them by the Levites.Since many in the crowd had not consecrated themselves, the Levites had to kill the Passover lambs for all those who were not ceremonially clean and could not consecrate their lambs to the Lord.

On the evening of the fourteenth day of the month, while camped at Gilgal on the plains of Jericho, the Israelites celebrated the Passover.

Then came the day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed.Jesus sent Peter and John, saying,“ Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover.”“ Where do you want us to prepare for it?” they asked.He replied,“ As you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him to the house that he enters,and say to the owner of the house,‘ The Teacher asks: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’He will show you a large room upstairs, all furnished. Make preparations there.”They left and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover.

So Moses went back and summoned the elders of the people and set before them all the words the Lord had commanded him to speak.

The Lord answered Moses,“ Go out in front of the people. Take with you some of the elders of Israel and take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go.

“ Stand in the holy place with a group of Levites for each subdivision of the families of your fellow Israelites, the lay people.Slaughter the Passover lambs, consecrate yourselves and prepare the lambs for your fellow Israelites, doing what the Lord commanded through Moses.”

The Lord said to Moses:“ Bring me seventy of Israel’s elders who are known to you as leaders and officials among the people. Have them come to the tent of meeting, that they may stand there with you.

“ Have the Israelites celebrate the Passover at the appointed time.Celebrate it at the appointed time, at twilight on the fourteenth day of this month, in accordance with all its rules and regulations.”So Moses told the Israelites to celebrate the Passover,and they did so in the Desert of Sinai at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month. The Israelites did everything just as the Lord commanded Moses.

This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. Eat it in haste; it is the Lord’s Passover.

The priests and Levites had purified themselves and were all ceremonially clean. The Levites slaughtered the Passover lamb for all the exiles, for their relatives the priests and for themselves.

The king gave this order to all the people:“ Celebrate the Passover to the Lord your God, as it is written in this Book of the Covenant.”

and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.
