“七月初十是贖罪日；你們應當有聖會，要刻苦己心，獻火祭給耶和華。

耶和華這樣說：為了自己的性命，你們要謹慎，不可在安息日挑擔子，不可挑進耶路撒冷的城門。也不可在安息日從你們家裡挑擔子出來；甚麼工都不可作，卻要守安息日為聖日，正如我吩咐你們列祖的。

在這一天你們要宣布，這是你們的聖會，甚麼勞碌的工你們都不可作。這要在你們一切住處，作世世代代永遠的律例。

“‘七月十五日，你們要有聖會；甚麼勞碌的工都不可作，要向耶和華守節七天；

“你要告訴以色列人：七月初一，你們必須完全休歇，要吹號筒作記念，應當有聖會。甚麼勞碌的工你們都不可作；你們要獻火祭給耶和華。”

你們看，耶和華把安息日賜給了你們，所以第六日他賜給你們兩天的食物；第七天你們各人要住在家裡，誰都不可離開自己的地方。”
