「七月十日是贖罪日，你們要舉行聖會，禁食，獻火祭給耶和華。

耶和華說，如果你們想保住性命，就要小心，不要在安息日帶貨物進耶路撒冷的城門，也不要從家中運出貨物，不要在安息日做任何工作。要按照我對你們祖先的吩咐守安息日為聖日。

你們要在那天召開聖會，不可做日常工作。不論住在哪裡，你們都要世代遵守這永遠不變的律例。

「在七月十五日那一天，你們要舉行聖會，不可工作，為耶和華守節期七天。

「你告訴以色列人，『你們要在七月一日休息，要吹號作紀念，召開聖會。你們不可做日常工作，要獻火祭給耶和華。』」

要知道，耶和華已將安息日賜給你們，所以第六天我會賜你們雙倍的食物。第七天，人人都要留在營中，不許外出。」
