Then Pharaoh gave this order to all his people:“ Throw every newborn Hebrew boy into the Nile River. But you may let the girls live.”

This king exploited our people and oppressed them, forcing parents to abandon their newborn babies so they would die.

“ When you help the Hebrew women as they give birth, watch as they deliver. If the baby is a boy, kill him; if it is a girl, let her live.”

Then he turned the Egyptians against the Israelites, and they plotted against the Lord’s servants.

For evil people can’t sleep until they’ve done their evil deed for the day. They can’t rest until they’ve caused someone to stumble.

Two full years later, Pharaoh dreamed that he was standing on the bank of the Nile River.

Then the Lord said to Moses:“ Tell Aaron,‘ Take your staff and raise your hand over the waters of Egypt— all its rivers, canals, ponds, and all the reservoirs. Turn all the water to blood. Everywhere in Egypt the water will turn to blood, even the water stored in wooden bowls and stone pots.’”So Moses and Aaron did just as the Lord commanded them. As Pharaoh and all of his officials watched, Aaron raised his staff and struck the water of the Nile. Suddenly, the whole river turned to blood!The fish in the river died, and the water became so foul that the Egyptians couldn’t drink it. There was blood everywhere throughout the land of Egypt.

Then the third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs, and they became blood.And I heard the angel who had authority over all water saying,“ You are just, O Holy One, who is and who always was, because you have sent these judgments.Since they shed the blood of your holy people and your prophets, you have given them blood to drink. It is their just reward.”

They rush to commit evil deeds. They hurry to commit murder.

Anger is cruel, and wrath is like a flood, but jealousy is even more dangerous.
