神说：“我使你的肩得脱重担，你的手放下筐子。

埃及人恶待我们，苦害我们，将苦工加在我们身上。

所罗门建造旷野里的达莫，又建造哈马所有的积货城，

忿怒为残忍，怒气为狂澜，惟有嫉妒，谁能敌得住呢？

你们安卧在羊圈的时候，好像鸽子的翅膀镀白银，翎毛镀黄金一般。

所以你要对以色列人说：‘我是耶和华；我要用伸出来的膀臂重重地刑罚埃及人，救赎你们脱离他们的重担，不做他们的苦工。我要以你们为我的百姓，我也要作你们的神。你们要知道我是耶和华你们的神，是救你们脱离埃及人之重担的。

以色列人的官长就来哀求法老说：“为什么这样待你的仆人？

他们从这邦游到那邦，从这国行到那国。

就是我们的列祖下到埃及，我们在埃及久住；埃及人恶待我们的列祖和我们，

埃及王对他们说：“摩西、亚伦！你们为什么叫百姓旷工呢？你们去担你们的担子吧！”又说：“看哪，这地的以色列人如今众多，你们竟叫他们歇下担子！”当天，法老吩咐督工的和官长说：

又建造所有的积货城，并屯车和马兵的城，与耶路撒冷、黎巴嫩，以及自己治理的全国中所愿建造的。
