It was when their weeping turned into a day for celebrating. He wrote the letters to celebrate those days as times of joy. He wanted the people to enjoy good food. 正月十三日、王召繕寫、從哈曼所欲書之、詔依各州方言文字、鈐以國璽、普告臣工、方伯、民長、遣郵頒詔各州使於十二月、即亞達月、十三日、殺戮猶大人、取其貨財、凡旄倪妻子、毋俾遺種。

信者會同、有無相通、有所需、變物產分之、日日一心在殿、家擘其餅、以歡以誠而食、

吾心頌美耶和華、念其恩澤弗忘兮、

摩西告民曰、是日耶和華以大能導爾出此地、脫汝於賤役、當誌弗忘、毋食酵餅。爾出時乃亞筆月。昔耶和華誓以產乳與蜜之地、賜爾祖、其地即迦南人、赫人、亞摩哩人、希未人、耶布士人所屬者、既導爾入斯土、當於是月守此禮。七日當食無酵餅、歷至七日、乃守節禮、奉事耶和華。七日必食無酵餅、酵與酒母、毋得見於爾境。當告子孫、昔出埃及、耶和華拯我儕、故行此禮。

哀慟者福矣、以其將受慰也、

汝往哉、食其珍錯、飲其甘旨、無者頒之、此乃聖日、奉事耶和華、勿復殷憂、惟賴耶和華、眾姓臚歡。利未人慰藉斯民曰、今乃聖日、當靜默、毋殷憂、民往飲食、饋以餚饌、所誦書詞、既能明晰、故懽然喜樂、

當斯之時、流民復集、僉曰、耶和華昔震怒余、今怒已息、且加慰藉、故予頌美之焉。耶和華上帝拯余、予恃之以無恐、援予、予必謳歌、極其揄揚。
