以是月是日、猶大人免敵之擾、轉憂為喜、轉戚為愉、守為佳日、於此二日、筵宴喜樂、互相饋遺、賙恤貧乏、

因此月此日、猶大人脫於仇敵而得安、憂轉為喜、凶轉為吉、故當守此二日、設筵喜樂、彼此餽禮、周濟貧乏、

as the time when the Jews got relief from their enemies, and as the month when their sorrow was turned into joy and their mourning into a day of celebration. He wrote them to observe the days as days of feasting and joy and giving presents of food to one another and gifts to the poor.

Mordecai told the Jews to celebrate the time when they got rest from their enemies. That was the month when their sadness was turned into joy. It was when their weeping turned into a day for celebrating. He wrote the letters to celebrate those days as times of joy. He wanted the people to enjoy good food. He told them to give presents of food to one another. He also wanted them to give gifts to people who were poor.

當耶和華使你脫離愁苦、煩惱，並人勉強你做的苦工，得享安息的日子，

所以住無城牆鄉村的猶大人，如今都以亞達月十四日為設筵歡樂的吉日，彼此餽送禮物。

只是願意我們記念窮人；這也是我本來熱心去行的。

我實實在在地告訴你們，你們將要痛哭、哀號，世人倒要喜樂；你們將要憂愁，然而你們的憂愁要變為喜樂。婦人生產的時候就憂愁，因為她的時候到了；既生了孩子，就不再記念那苦楚，因為歡喜世上生了一個人。你們現在也是憂愁，但我要再見你們，你們的心就喜樂了；這喜樂也沒有人能奪去。

只要把裏面的施捨給人，凡物於你們就都潔淨了。

正月十三日，就召了王的書記來，照着哈曼一切所吩咐的，用各省的文字、各族的方言，奉亞哈隨魯王的名寫旨意，傳與總督和各省的省長，並各族的首領；又用王的戒指蓋印，交給驛卒傳到王的各省，吩咐將猶大人，無論老少婦女孩子，在一日之間，十二月，就是亞達月十三日，全然剪除，殺戮滅絕，並奪他們的財為掠物。

信的人都在一處，凡物公用，並且賣了田產、家業，照各人所需用的分給各人。他們天天同心合意恆切地在殿裏，且在家中擘餅，存着歡喜、誠實的心用飯，

我的心哪，你要稱頌耶和華！不可忘記他的一切恩惠！

摩西對百姓說：「你們要記念從埃及為奴之家出來的這日，因為耶和華用大能的手將你們從這地方領出來。有酵的餅都不可吃。亞筆月間的這日是你們出來的日子。將來耶和華領你進迦南人、赫人、亞摩利人、希未人、耶布斯人之地，就是他向你的祖宗起誓應許給你那流奶與蜜之地，那時你要在這月間守這禮。你要吃無酵餅七日，到第七日要向耶和華守節。這七日之久，要吃無酵餅；在你四境之內不可見有酵的餅，也不可見發酵的物。當那日，你要告訴你的兒子說：『這是因耶和華在我出埃及的時候為我所行的事。

哀慟的人有福了！因為他們必得安慰。

又對他們說：「你們去吃肥美的，喝甘甜的，有不能預備的就分給他，因為今日是我們主的聖日。你們不要憂愁，因靠耶和華而得的喜樂是你們的力量。」於是利未人使眾民靜默，說：「今日是聖日；不要作聲，也不要憂愁。」眾民都去吃喝，也分給人，大大快樂，因為他們明白所教訓他們的話。

到那日，你必說：耶和華啊，我要稱謝你！因為你雖然向我發怒，你的怒氣卻已轉消；你又安慰了我。看哪！神是我的拯救；我要倚靠他，並不懼怕。因為主耶和華是我的力量，是我的詩歌，他也成了我的拯救。
