亚哈随鲁年间，亚哈随鲁统治着从印度到库实的一百二十七个省；

那时是三月（西弯月）二十三日，王的书记们被召来，照着末迪凯所吩咐的一切，给犹太人下旨，也给从印度到库实一百二十七个省的行政官、省长和各省的首领下旨，用各省的文字给各个省，用各民族的语言给各个民族，用犹太人的文字和语言给犹太人。

这世代要向那世代称赞你所做的，并要宣告你的大能作为。我要默想你荣耀威严的尊荣，默想你的奇妙作为。人们要述说你行可畏之事的大能；我也要讲述你的伟大。他们要传扬你美善至尊的名，也要颂唱你的公义。耶和华有恩惠、有怜悯，不轻易发怒，并大有慈爱。耶和华善待万有，他的怜悯临到他所造的一切。耶和华啊，你所造的一切都要称谢你，你的忠信者也要颂赞你！他们要述说你王权的荣耀，也要宣告你的大能；为要让世人知道你的大能作为，以及你王权威严的荣耀。
