一月十三日，王的書記被召來，他們以亞哈隨魯王的名義，照哈曼的吩咐，用各省的文字和各族的語言寫諭旨，用王的戒指蓋印，送交各總督、各省省長和各族首領。

「現在，你要寫一首歌，教導以色列人，讓他們背誦，作為我指控他們的證據。因為當我把他們帶到我起誓應許他們祖先的奶蜜之鄉後，當他們在那裡吃飽喝足後，就會嫌棄我，違背我與他們所立的約，去供奉別的神明。當許多禍患和災難臨到他們的時候，這首歌就要成為指控他們的證據，因為這首歌要在他們的子孫中世代流傳。雖然我還沒有帶領他們進入我起誓應許之地，我已經知道他們的心思意念。」當天，摩西就寫下這首歌，傳授給以色列人。

願世世代代頌讚你的事蹟，傳揚你大能的作為。我要默想你的榮耀、威嚴和奇妙作為。人們要述說你令人敬畏的大能作為，我也要傳揚你的偉大事蹟。他們要訴說你的厚恩，歌頌你的公義。耶和華有恩典和憐憫，不輕易發怒，充滿慈愛。耶和華善待萬民，憐憫祂所造的萬物。耶和華啊，你所創造的萬物都要稱謝你，你忠心的子民也要稱頌你。他們要述說你國度的榮耀，講論你的大能，好讓世人知道你大能的作為和你國度的威嚴與榮耀。

祂僕人以色列的後裔啊，祂所揀選的雅各的子孫啊，要記住祂所行的神蹟奇事和祂口中的判詞。
