以色列人要说：若不是耶和华帮助我们，若不是耶和华帮助我们，仇敌起来攻击我们、向我们发怒的时候，我们早已被他们生吞，

一月十三日，王的书记被召来，他们以亚哈随鲁王的名义，照哈曼的吩咐，用各省的文字和各族的语言写谕旨，用王的戒指盖印，送交各总督、各省省长和各族首领。

“现在，你要写一首歌，教导以色列人，让他们背诵，作为我指控他们的证据。因为当我把他们带到我起誓应许他们祖先的奶蜜之乡后，当他们在那里吃饱喝足后，就会嫌弃我，违背我与他们所立的约，去供奉别的神明。当许多祸患和灾难临到他们的时候，这首歌就要成为指控他们的证据，因为这首歌要在他们的子孙中世代流传。虽然我还没有带领他们进入我起誓应许之地，我已经知道他们的心思意念。”当天，摩西就写下这首歌，传授给以色列人。

愿世世代代颂赞你的事迹，传扬你大能的作为。我要默想你的荣耀、威严和奇妙作为。人们要述说你令人敬畏的大能作为，我也要传扬你的伟大事迹。他们要诉说你的厚恩，歌颂你的公义。耶和华有恩典和怜悯，不轻易发怒，充满慈爱。耶和华善待万民，怜悯祂所造的万物。耶和华啊，你所创造的万物都要称谢你，你忠心的子民也要称颂你。他们要述说你国度的荣耀，讲论你的大能，好让世人知道你大能的作为和你国度的威严与荣耀。

祂仆人以色列的后裔啊，祂所拣选的雅各的子孙啊，要记住祂所行的神迹奇事和祂口中的判词。
