王准各城各鎮的猶太人在一日之內，在十二月，就是亞達月的十三日聚集，在亞哈隨魯王的各省保護自己的性命，剪除，殺戮，滅絕那要攻擊猶太人的各省各族所有的軍隊，以及他們的妻子兒女，奪取他們的財產為掠物。

哈曼將他的榮華富貴、眾多的兒女，和王使他尊大、提升他高過官長和臣僕的事，都述說給他們聽。

凡是你的東西，就是一根線、一條鞋帶，我都不拿，免得你說：『是我使亞伯蘭富足！』

他必從光明中被驅逐到黑暗裏，他必被趕出世界。他在自己百姓中必無子無孫，在寄居之地也沒有倖存者。

「這是神為惡人所定的份，殘暴人從全能者所得的產業：倘若他的兒女增多，仍被刀所殺；他的子孫必不得飽食。他遺留的人必死而埋葬，他的寡婦也不哀哭。

不可跪拜那些像，也不可事奉它們，因為我耶和華－你的神是忌邪的神。恨我的，我必懲罰他們的罪，自父及子，直到三、四代；

他說：「我指着耶和華的寶座發誓，耶和華必世世代代和亞瑪力爭戰。」

末了，弟兄們，凡是真實的、凡是可敬的、凡是公義的、凡是清潔的、凡是可愛的、凡是有美名的，若有甚麼德行，若有甚麼稱讚，你們都要留意。

亞達月十四日，在書珊的猶太人又聚集，在書珊殺了三百人，卻沒有下手奪取財物。亞達月十三日，在王各省其餘的猶太人也都聚集，保護自己的性命，擺脫仇敵得享平安。他們殺了七萬五千個恨他們的人，卻沒有下手奪取財物；十四日他們休息，以這日為設宴歡樂的日子。

以斯帖說：「仇人敵人就是這惡人哈曼！」哈曼在王和王后面前非常驚惶。

願無人向他佈施恩惠，無人恩待他的孤兒！願他的後人斷絕，名字被塗去，不傳於下代！

因為我和我的本族被出賣了，要被剪除，殺戮，滅絕。我們若被賣為奴為婢，我就閉口不言；但我們的痛苦比起王的損失，算不得甚麼。」

不要以惡報惡，眾人以為美的事要留心去做。

你必從世上滅絕他們的幼苗，從人間滅絕他們的後裔。

這些事以後，亞哈隨魯王使亞甲人哈米大他的兒子哈曼尊大，提升了他，叫他的爵位超過所有與他同朝的官長。
