諭旨上說，王准許各城的猶太人在十二月，即亞達月十三日，聚集起來自衛，剷除、殺光、滅盡各族各省攻擊他們的仇敵及其兒女、妻子，奪取仇敵的財物。

向他們誇耀自己的榮華富貴和兒孫滿堂，以及王怎樣擢升他，使他位極人臣。

凡是你的東西，就是一根線、一條鞋帶，我都不會拿，免得你說，『我使亞伯蘭發了財！』

他從光明中被趕入黑暗，他被逐出這個世界。他在本族中無子無孫，他所居之地無人生還。

「以下是上帝給惡人定的結局，全能者賜給殘暴之徒的歸宿。他的兒女再多也難逃殺戮，他的子孫永遠吃不飽。他倖存的後人被瘟疫吞噬，生還的寡婦也不哀哭。

不可跪拜它們，也不可供奉它們，因為我——你的上帝耶和華痛恨不貞，我必追討背棄我之人的罪，從父到子直到三四代。

摩西說：「耶和華已經起誓要世代與亞瑪力人為敵。」

最後，弟兄姊妹，你們要思想一切真實、可敬、公義、純潔、可愛、有好名聲、有美德和值得讚許的事情。

亞達月十四日，書珊城的猶太人再次聚集起來，在城中殺了三百人，但沒有動他們的財物。王其他各省的猶太人也都聚集起來自衛，得以脫離仇敵。他們殺了七萬五千個仇敵，但沒有動他們的財物。

以斯帖回答說：「敵人和仇家就是這惡人哈曼！」哈曼在王和王后面前十分驚恐。

願無人向他施恩，無人同情他的孤兒。願他斷子絕孫，他的姓氏傳不到下一代。

因為我和我本族的人都被賣了，我們將被剷除、殺光、滅盡。如果只是賣我們為奴為婢，我會閉口不語，因為那樣的痛苦不值得來打擾王。」

不要以惡報惡。要尊重別人，眾人都認為好的事，應該竭力去做。

你必從世上剷除他們的子孫，從人間滅絕他們的後裔。

後來，亞哈隨魯王擢升亞甲人哈米大他的兒子哈曼，使他的權位高過他所有的同僚。
