谕旨上说，王准许各城的犹太人在十二月，即亚达月十三日，聚集起来自卫，铲除、杀光、灭尽各族各省攻击他们的仇敌及其儿女、妻子，夺取仇敌的财物。

向他们夸耀自己的荣华富贵和儿孙满堂，以及王怎样擢升他，使他位极人臣。

凡是你的东西，就是一根线、一条鞋带，我都不会拿，免得你说，‘我使亚伯兰发了财！’

他从光明中被赶入黑暗，他被逐出这个世界。他在本族中无子无孙，他所居之地无人生还。

“以下是上帝给恶人定的结局，全能者赐给残暴之徒的归宿。他的儿女再多也难逃杀戮，他的子孙永远吃不饱。他幸存的后人被瘟疫吞噬，生还的寡妇也不哀哭。

不可跪拜它们，也不可供奉它们，因为我——你的上帝耶和华痛恨不贞，我必追讨背弃我之人的罪，从父到子直到三四代。

摩西说：“耶和华已经起誓要世代与亚玛力人为敌。”

最后，弟兄姊妹，你们要思想一切真实、可敬、公义、纯洁、可爱、有好名声、有美德和值得赞许的事情。

亚达月十四日，书珊城的犹太人再次聚集起来，在城中杀了三百人，但没有动他们的财物。王其他各省的犹太人也都聚集起来自卫，得以脱离仇敌。他们杀了七万五千个仇敌，但没有动他们的财物。

以斯帖回答说：“敌人和仇家就是这恶人哈曼！”哈曼在王和王后面前十分惊恐。

愿无人向他施恩，无人同情他的孤儿。愿他断子绝孙，他的姓氏传不到下一代。

因为我和我本族的人都被卖了，我们将被铲除、杀光、灭尽。如果只是卖我们为奴为婢，我会闭口不语，因为那样的痛苦不值得来打扰王。”

不要以恶报恶。要尊重别人，众人都认为好的事，应该竭力去做。

你必从世上铲除他们的子孙，从人间灭绝他们的后裔。

后来，亚哈随鲁王擢升亚甲人哈米大他的儿子哈曼，使他的权位高过他所有的同僚。
