「我的年日比信差還快，匆匆而過，不見幸福。

他們必騎著馬、駕著車、坐著轎、騎著騾子或駱駝，把你們的弟兄從各國帶到我的聖山耶路撒冷，作為供物獻給耶和華，好像以色列人用潔淨的器皿把素祭帶到耶和華的殿中。這是耶和華說的。」

一月十三日，王的書記被召來，他們以亞哈隨魯王的名義，照哈曼的吩咐，用各省的文字和各族的語言寫諭旨，用王的戒指蓋印，送交各總督、各省省長和各族首領。諭旨由信差送到王的各省，限令在一天之內，即十二月，也就是亞達月十三日，把猶太人的男女老少全部剷除、殺光、滅盡，並奪取他們的財物。

信差遵照王的命令帶著王和眾官員的信走遍以色列和猶大，宣告說：「以色列人啊，你們應當歸向亞伯拉罕、以撒和以色列的上帝耶和華，好使祂轉向你們這些從亞述王手中逃脫的餘民。

我要用你打碎戰馬和騎士，

於是，耶洗別以亞哈王的名義寫信，並蓋上王印，送給跟拿伯同居一城的長老和貴族。

況且，王的命令至高無上，誰敢質問他呢？

米甸和以法的駱駝必成群結隊而來，佈滿你的地面；示巴人必帶著黃金和乳香來頌讚耶和華。

「你怎能說，『我沒有玷污自己，也沒有隨從巴力』？看看你在山谷中幹的勾當，想想你的所作所為。你是一隻發情的母駱駝，煩躁不安，跑來跑去。

尼布甲尼撒王傳諭天下各族、各邦、各語種的人：「願你們大享平安！

他們也各按其份提供餵馬用的大麥和乾草。
