Esther replied,“ This wicked Haman is our adversary and our enemy.” Haman grew pale with fright before the king and queen.

以斯帖回答说：“敌人和仇家就是这恶人哈曼！”哈曼在王和王后面前十分惊恐。

以斯帖回答：“这敌人和仇人，就是这恶人哈曼！”哈曼在王和王后面前立刻惊惶万分。

以斯帖说：“那敌人、那仇敌，就是这恶人哈曼！”哈曼就在王和王后面前惊惶失措。

以斯帖說：『敵人、仇敵、就是哈曼這個壞人！』哈曼在王和王后面前立即驚惶失措。

以斯帖說：「那敵人、那仇敵，就是這惡人哈曼！」哈曼就在王和王后面前驚惶失措。

以斯帖曰、厥仇厥敵、即此惡人哈曼也、於是哈曼驚懼、在王與后前、

后曰、敵非他、哈曼是也。哈曼於王及后前、不勝股栗。

以斯帖曰、敵人仇人即此惡人哈曼、哈曼於王及后前、不勝恐懼、

Esther said,“ An adversary and enemy! This vile Haman!” Then Haman was terrified before the king and queen.

Esther said,“ The man hates us! He’s our enemy! He’s this evil Haman!” Then Haman was terrified in front of the king and queen.

And Esther said,“ A foe and enemy! This wicked Haman!” Then Haman was terrified before the king and the queen.

Esther answered,“ The adversary and enemy is this evil Haman.” Haman stood terrified before the king and queen.

And Esther said,“ A foe and an enemy is this wicked Haman!” Then Haman became terrified before the king and queen.

And Esther said,“ The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman!” So Haman was terrified before the king and queen.

And Esther said, An adversary and an enemy, even this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.

Esther answered,“ The adversary and enemy is this evil Haman.” Haman stood terrified before the king and queen.

And Esther said, The adversary and enemy[ is] this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.

Esther replied,“ The oppressor and enemy is this evil Haman!” Then Haman became terrified in the presence of the king and queen.

Esther said,“ An adversary and an enemy, even this wicked Haman!” Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.

Then the man of lawlessness will be revealed, but the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of his mouth and destroy him by the splendor of his coming.

O God, if only you would destroy the wicked! Get out of my life, you murderers!They blaspheme you; your enemies misuse your name.O Lord, shouldn’t I hate those who hate you? Shouldn’t I despise those who oppose you?Yes, I hate them with total hatred, for your enemies are my enemies.

“ Surely the light of the wicked will be snuffed out. The sparks of their fire will not glow.The light in their tent will grow dark. The lamp hanging above them will be quenched.The confident stride of the wicked will be shortened. Their own schemes will be their downfall.The wicked walk into a net. They fall into a pit.A trap grabs them by the heel. A snare holds them tight.A noose lies hidden on the ground. A rope is stretched across their path.“ Terrors surround the wicked and trouble them at every step.Hunger depletes their strength, and calamity waits for them to stumble.

They don’t have troubles like other people; they’re not plagued with problems like everyone else.They wear pride like a jeweled necklace and clothe themselves with cruelty.These fat cats have everything their hearts could ever wish for!They scoff and speak only evil; in their pride they seek to crush others.They boast against the very heavens, and their words strut throughout the earth.

The anger of the king is a deadly threat; the wise will try to appease it.

Suddenly, they saw the fingers of a human hand writing on the plaster wall of the king’s palace, near the lampstand. The king himself saw the hand as it wrote,and his face turned pale with fright. His knees knocked together in fear and his legs gave way beneath him.

God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say,“ You must remove the evil person from among you.”

The sound of terror rings in their ears, and even on good days they fear the attack of the destroyer.They dare not go out into the darkness for fear they will be murdered.

When our enemies and the surrounding nations heard about it, they were frightened and humiliated. They realized this work had been done with the help of our God.

The king agreed, confirming his decision by removing his signet ring from his finger and giving it to Haman son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the enemy of the Jews.

As that old proverb says,‘ From evil people come evil deeds.’ So you can be sure I will never harm you.

When evil people come to devour me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall.

A judge who says to the wicked,“ You are innocent,” will be cursed by many people and denounced by the nations.But it will go well for those who convict the guilty; rich blessings will be showered on them.

Don’t be surprised if you see a poor person being oppressed by the powerful and if justice is being miscarried throughout the land. For every official is under orders from higher up, and matters of justice get lost in red tape and bureaucracy.

Then I went into your sanctuary, O God, and I finally understood the destiny of the wicked.Truly, you put them on a slippery path and send them sliding over the cliff to destruction.In an instant they are destroyed, completely swept away by terrors.When you arise, O Lord, you will laugh at their silly ideas as a person laughs at dreams in the morning.

My mind reels and my heart races. I longed for evening to come, but now I am terrified of the dark.
