我與我民見鬻、欲加殺戮翦滅、俾歸隕亡、我儕若被鬻為奴為婢、我則緘默不言、蓋以我儕遇禍、較王受損、不足數也、

蓋我與我民、為人所陷、殺戮殞亡、即鬻我為奴婢、我亦無詞、惟有損於王、敵雖輸金、無所裨補。

For I and my people have been sold to be destroyed, killed and annihilated. If we had merely been sold as male and female slaves, I would have kept quiet, because no such distress would justify disturbing the king.”

My people and I have been sold to be destroyed. We’ve been sold to be killed and wiped out. Suppose we had only been sold as male and female slaves. Then I wouldn’t have said anything. That kind of suffering wouldn’t be a good enough reason to bother you.”

For we have been sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be killed, and to be annihilated. If we had been sold merely as slaves, men and women, I would have been silent, for our affliction is not to be compared with the loss to the king.”

王若以為美，請下旨意滅絕他們；我就捐一萬他連得銀子交給掌管國帑的人，納入王的府庫。」

交給驛卒傳到王的各省，吩咐將猶大人，無論老少婦女孩子，在一日之間，十二月，就是亞達月十三日，全然剪除，殺戮滅絕，並奪他們的財為掠物。

諭旨中，王准各省各城的猶大人在一日之間，十二月，就是亞達月十三日，聚集保護性命，剪除殺戮滅絕那要攻擊猶大人的一切仇敵和他們的妻子兒女，奪取他們的財為掠物。

並將猶大人和耶路撒冷人賣給希臘人，使他們遠離自己的境界。

我們為你的緣故終日被殺；人看我們如將宰的羊。主啊，求你睡醒，為何儘睡呢？求你興起，不要永遠丟棄我們！

你可以住在我這裏，不要懼怕。因為尋索你命的就是尋索我的命；你在我這裏可得保全。」

猶大對眾弟兄說：「我們殺我們的兄弟，藏了他的血有甚麼益處呢？我們不如將他賣給以實瑪利人，不可下手害他；因為他是我們的兄弟，我們的骨肉。」眾弟兄就聽從了他。有些米甸的商人從那裏經過，哥哥們就把約瑟從坑裏拉上來，講定二十舍客勒銀子，把約瑟賣給以實瑪利人。他們就把約瑟帶到埃及去了。

以斯帖說：「仇人敵人就是這惡人哈曼！」哈曼在王和王后面前就甚驚惶。

末底改將自己所遇的事，並哈曼為滅絕猶大人應許捐入王庫的銀數都告訴了他；又將所抄寫傳遍書珊城要滅絕猶大人的旨意交給哈他革，要給以斯帖看，又要給她說明，並囑咐她進去見王，為本族的人在王面前懇切祈求。

耶和華如此說：以色列人三番四次地犯罪，我必不免去他們的刑罰；因他們為銀子賣了義人，為一雙鞋賣了窮人。

我們的身體與我們弟兄的身體一樣；我們的兒女與他們的兒女一般。現在我們將要使兒女作人的僕婢，我們的女兒已有為婢的；我們並無力拯救，因為我們的田地、葡萄園已經歸了別人。」

現在你們是被咒詛的！你們中間的人必斷不了作奴僕，為我神的殿作劈柴挑水的人。」
