When Haman told his wife, Zeresh, and all his friends what had happened, his wise advisers and his wife said,“ Since Mordecai— this man who has humiliated you— is of Jewish birth, you will never succeed in your plans against him. It will be fatal to continue opposing him.”

Haman then related to his wife Zeresh and to all his friends everything that had happened to him. These wise men, along with his wife Zeresh, said to him,“ If indeed this Mordecai before whom you have begun to fall is Jewish, you will not prevail against him. No, you will surely fall before him!”

Whoever walks blamelessly is kept safe; but one with perverse ways will fall suddenly.

Who is wise, that he may understand these things? Who is prudent, that he may know them? For the ways of Yahweh are right, and the righteous walk in them; But the rebellious stumble in them.

Within three more days, Pharaoh will lift up your head from off you, and will hang you on a tree; and the birds will eat your flesh from off you.”

Because of this, the king was angry and very furious, and commanded that all the wise men of Babylon be destroyed.

Nevertheless Haman restrained himself, and went home. There, he sent and called for his friends and Zeresh his wife.Haman recounted to them the glory of his riches, the multitude of his children, all the things in which the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king.Haman also said,“ Yes, Esther the queen let no man come in with the king to the banquet that she had prepared but myself; and tomorrow I am also invited by her together with the king.Yet all this avails me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king’s gate.”Then Zeresh his wife and all his friends said to him,“ Let a gallows be made fifty cubits high, and in the morning speak to the king about hanging Mordecai on it. Then go in merrily with the king to the banquet.” This pleased Haman, so he had the gallows made.

“ This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE: God has counted your kingdom, and brought it to an end.TEKEL: you are weighed in the balances, and are found wanting.PERES: your kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.”

Moreover Yahweh will deliver Israel also with you into the hand of the Philistines; and tomorrow you and your sons will be with me. Yahweh will deliver the army of Israel also into the hand of the Philistines.”Then Saul fell immediately his full length on the earth, and was terrified, because of Samuel’s words. There was no strength in him; for he had eaten no bread all day long or all night long.

In the morning, his spirit was troubled, and he sent and called for all of Egypt’s magicians and wise men. Pharaoh told them his dreams, but there was no one who could interpret them to Pharaoh.

“ I have heard many such things. You are all miserable comforters!

“ Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of reeling to all the surrounding peoples, and it will also be on Judah in the siege against Jerusalem.It will happen in that day, that I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all the peoples. All who burden themselves with it will be severely wounded, and all the nations of the earth will be gathered together against it.

Distress and anguish make him afraid. They prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.
