The one whose walk is blameless is kept safe, but the one whose ways are perverse will fall into the pit.

Who is wise? Let them realize these things. Who is discerning? Let them understand. The ways of the Lord are right; the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them.

Within three days Pharaoh will lift off your head and impale your body on a pole. And the birds will eat away your flesh.”

This made the king so angry and furious that he ordered the execution of all the wise men of Babylon.

Then go with the king to the banquet and enjoy yourself.” This suggestion delighted Haman, and he had the pole set up.

“ Here is what these words mean: Mene: God has numbered the days of your reign and brought it to an end.Tekel: You have been weighed on the scales and found wanting.Peres: Your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians.”
