And Haman told his wife Zeresh and all his friends everything that had happened to him. Then his wise men and his wife Zeresh said to him,“ If Mordecai, before whom you have begun to fall, is of the Jewish people, you will not overcome him but will surely fall before him.”

When Haman told his wife, Zeresh, and all his friends what had happened, his wise advisers and his wife said,“ Since Mordecai— this man who has humiliated you— is of Jewish birth, you will never succeed in your plans against him. It will be fatal to continue opposing him.”

Haman then related to his wife Zeresh and to all his friends everything that had happened to him. These wise men, along with his wife Zeresh, said to him,“ If indeed this Mordecai before whom you have begun to fall is Jewish, you will not prevail against him. No, you will surely fall before him!”

Haman recounted to Zeresh his wife and all his friends everything that had happened to him. Then his wise men and Zeresh his wife said to him,“ If Mordecai, before whom you have begun to fall, is of Jewish descent, you will not prevail against him, but you will surely fall before him.”

行动正直的，必蒙拯救；行事弯曲的，立时跌倒。

谁是智慧人？可以明白这些事；谁是通达人？可以知道这一切。因为，耶和华的道是正直的；义人必在其中行走，罪人却在其上跌倒。

三天之内，法老必斩断你的头，把你挂在木头上，必有飞鸟来吃你身上的肉。”

因此，王气忿忿地大发烈怒，吩咐灭绝巴比伦所有的哲士。

哈曼暂且忍耐回家，叫人请他朋友和他妻子细利斯来。哈曼将他富厚的荣耀、众多的儿女，和王抬举他使他超乎首领臣仆之上，都述说给他们听。哈曼又说：“王后以斯帖预备筵席，除了我之外不许别人随王赴席。明日王后又请我随王赴席；只是我见犹大人末底改坐在朝门，虽有这一切荣耀，也与我无益。”他的妻细利斯和他一切的朋友对他说：“不如立一个五丈高的木架，明早求王将末底改挂在其上，然后你可以欢欢喜喜地随王赴席。”哈曼以这话为美，就叫人做了木架。

讲解是这样：弥尼，就是神已经数算你国的年日到此完毕。提客勒，就是你被称在天平里，显出你的亏欠。毗勒斯，就是你的国分裂，归与玛代人和波斯人。”

并且耶和华必将你和以色列人交在非利士人的手里。明日你和你众子必与我在一处了；耶和华必将以色列的军兵交在非利士人手里。”扫罗猛然仆倒，挺身在地，因撒母耳的话甚是惧怕；那一昼一夜，没有吃什么，就毫无气力。

到了早晨，法老心里不安，就差人召了埃及所有的术士和博士来；法老就把所做的梦告诉他们，却没有人能给法老圆解。

“这样的话我听了许多；你们安慰人，反叫人愁烦。

“我必使耶路撒冷被围困的时候，向四围列国的民成为令人昏醉的杯；这默示也论到犹大。那日，我必使耶路撒冷向聚集攻击他的万民当作一块重石头；凡举起的必受重伤。

急难困苦叫他害怕，而且胜了他，好像君王预备上阵一样。
