我若沾恩於王前、且王悅之、允我所求、成我所欲、請與哈曼、赴我所設之宴、明日必依王言而行、

我若蒙恩於王前、王若樂允、賜我所欲、行我所求、我明日將為王與哈曼復設筵、願王使哈曼隨王赴筵、我乃遵王命以所求奏告王、

If the king regards me with favor and if it pleases the king to grant my petition and fulfill my request, let the king and Haman come tomorrow to the banquet I will prepare for them. Then I will answer the king’s question.”

I hope you will be pleased to give me what I want. And I hope you will be pleased to listen to my appeal. If you are, I’d like you and Haman to come tomorrow to the feast I’ll prepare for you. Then I’ll answer your question.”

If I have found favor in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my wish and fulfill my request, let the king and Haman come to the feast that I will prepare for them, and tomorrow I will do as the king has said.”

王后以斯帖回應說：「王啊，如果我在你眼前蒙恩，如果王認為好，就請王把我的性命賜予我，作為回應我的請求；也請王把我的民族賜予我，作為回應我所求的；

人的心計劃自己的道路，但耶和華堅定他的腳步。

那天夜裡，王睡不著覺，就吩咐人把《編年史》的記錄帶來，在王面前誦讀；讀的時候，發現其中記著：末迪凱告發了兩個守門的王室太監彼革坦和提列，他們圖謀對亞哈隨魯王下手。王就問：「為這事，賜予了末迪凱什麼尊榮或地位嗎？」事奉王的僕人們回答：「什麼也沒有賜予他。」王問：「誰在院子裡？」那時哈曼正來到王宮的外院，為要向王提說把末迪凱掛在他為末迪凱所預備的木架上。王的僕人們對王說：「看哪，哈曼站在院子裡！」王就說：「讓他進來。」哈曼進來了，王問他：「王願意賜予尊榮的人，應該怎麼對待他呢？」哈曼心裡說：「王願意賜予尊榮的人，除我以外，還會有誰呢？」哈曼就對王說：「王願意賜予尊榮的人，應該讓人把王所穿的王袍和王所騎的馬，就是頭戴御冠的馬帶來，把衣袍和馬交在王的一個貴族首領的手中，給王願意賜予尊榮的人穿上衣袍，使他騎上馬，然後領他走遍城市廣場，並在他前面宣告：『王願意賜予尊榮的人，就要這樣對待他！』」於是王對哈曼說：「趕快！把衣袍和馬帶來，照著你所說的那樣對待坐在御門那裡的猶太人末迪凱；凡你所說的，一樣也不可缺少。」哈曼就把衣袍和馬帶來，給末迪凱穿上衣袍，使他騎上馬，然後領他走遍城市廣場，並在他前面宣告：「王願意賜予尊榮的人，就要這樣對待他！」末迪凱回到御門那裡；哈曼卻心中悲哀，蒙著頭急促回到家。哈曼向他的妻子細利斯和他所有的朋友講述了自己所遇到的一切事。他的那些智慧人和他的妻子細利斯就對他說：「你在末迪凱面前開始落敗了；既然他是猶太人的後裔，你就勝不過他，在他面前必定落敗！」他們還在與哈曼說話的時候，王室的太監們到了，催哈曼趕快去赴以斯帖擺設的宴席。

她說：「如果王認為好，如果我在王面前蒙恩，如果這事在王面前合宜，如果我在王眼前蒙喜悅，就請王下旨撤回亞甲人哈米達塔的兒子哈曼所謀設的詔書，就是他寫下要消滅王各省中猶太人的那詔書。
