Set it up at a place where it will be 75 feet above the ground. Everyone will be able to see it there. Then go to the feast with the king. Have a good time.” Haman was delighted with that suggestion. So he got the pole ready.

When this is done, you can go on your merry way to the banquet with the king.” This pleased Haman, and he ordered the pole set up.

The king said,“ Who is in the court?” Now Haman had come into the outer court of the king’s house, to speak to the king about hanging Mordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him.

The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to kill those who are upright on the path.

The wicked watch the righteous, and seek to kill him.

Jezebel his wife said to him,“ Do you now govern the kingdom of Israel? Arise, and eat bread, and let your heart be merry. I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.”

Then Harbonah, one of the eunuchs who were with the king said,“ Behold, the gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman has made for Mordecai, who spoke good for the king, is standing at Haman’s house.” The king said,“ Hang him on it!”So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the king’s wrath was pacified.

He has also prepared for himself the instruments of death. He makes ready his flaming arrows.Behold, he travails with iniquity. Yes, he has conceived mischief, and brought out falsehood.He has dug a hole, and has fallen into the pit which he made.The trouble he causes shall return to his own head. His violence shall come down on the crown of his own head.

Those who dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and they will be glad. They will give gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.

But Amnon had a friend, whose name was Jonadab, the son of Shimeah, David’s brother; and Jonadab was a very subtle man.He said to him,“ Why, son of the king, are you so sad from day to day? Won’t you tell me?” Amnon said to him,“ I love Tamar, my brother Absalom’s sister.”Jonadab said to him,“ Lay down on your bed, and pretend to be sick. When your father comes to see you, tell him,‘ Please let my sister Tamar come and give me bread to eat, and prepare the food in my sight, that I may see it, and eat it from her hand.’”

But there was no one like Ahab, who sold himself to do that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.

who, knowing the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them.

The nations have sunk down in the pit that they made. In the net which they hid, their own foot is taken.

but these lay in wait for their own blood. They lurk secretly for their own lives.
