His wife Zeresh and all his friends said to him,“ Have a pole set up, reaching to a height of fifty cubits, and ask the king in the morning to have Mordecai impaled on it. Then go with the king to the banquet and enjoy yourself.” This suggestion delighted Haman, and he had the pole set up.

Haman’s wife Zeresh and all his friends said to him,“ Get a pole. In the morning, ask the king to have Mordecai put to death. Have the pole stuck through his body. Set it up at a place where it will be 75 feet above the ground. Everyone will be able to see it there. Then go to the feast with the king. Have a good time.” Haman was delighted with that suggestion. So he got the pole ready.

Then his wife Zeresh and all his friends said to him,“ Let a gallows fifty cubits high be made, and in the morning tell the king to have Mordecai hanged upon it. Then go joyfully with the king to the feast.” This idea pleased Haman, and he had the gallows made.

So Haman’s wife, Zeresh, and all his friends suggested,“ Set up a sharpened pole that stands seventy five feet tall, and in the morning ask the king to impale Mordecai on it. When this is done, you can go on your merry way to the banquet with the king.” This pleased Haman, and he ordered the pole set up.

His wife Zeresh and all his friends told him,“ Have them build a gallows seventy-five feet tall. Ask the king in the morning to hang Mordecai on it. Then go to the banquet with the king and enjoy yourself.” The advice pleased Haman, so he had the gallows constructed.

Then Zeresh his wife and all his friends said to him,“ Have a wooden gallows fifty cubits high made, and in the morning ask the king to have Mordecai hanged on it; then go joyfully with the king to the banquet.” And the advice pleased Haman, so he had the wooden gallows made.

Then his wife Zeresh and all his friends said to him,“ Let a gallows be made, fifty cubits high, and in the morning suggest to the king that Mordecai be hanged on it; then go merrily with the king to the banquet.” And the thing pleased Haman; so he had the gallows made.

Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made fifty cubits high, and in the morning speak thou unto the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily with the king unto the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman; and he caused the gallows to be made.

王問：「誰在院子裡？」那時哈曼剛進到王宮外院，想請求王將末底改吊在他預備的木架上。

惡人拔劍張弓要消滅窮苦人，殺戮正直人，

惡人窺探義人，伺機謀害。

耶洗別說：「你忘了自己是以色列王嗎？起來吃飯吧，高興點，我必讓你得到耶斯列人拿伯的葡萄園。」

服侍王的太監哈波拿說：「哈曼為那救駕有功的末底改做了一個二十三米高的木架，如今正立在哈曼家裡。」王說：「把哈曼吊在上面！」於是，哈曼被吊在他為末底改預備的木架上，王的怒氣這才平息。

祂準備好了奪命的兵器，火箭已在弦上。惡人心懷惡念，居心叵測，滋生虛謊。他們挖了陷阱，卻自陷其中。他們的惡行臨到自己頭上，他們的暴力落到自己腦殼上。

地上萬民便興高采烈，互相送禮道賀，因為這兩位先知曾使地上的人受苦。

十二門徒當中的加略人猶大去見祭司長，要把耶穌出賣給他們。他們聽了喜出望外，答應給他酬金。於是猶大伺機出賣耶穌。

你們躺在象牙床上，靠在臥榻上，你們吃養在圈裡的肥嫩牛羊。你們伴著琴聲唱慵懶的歌，像大衛一樣為自己製造樂器。你們以大碗狂飲，用上等膏油抹身，卻漠不關心約瑟家的衰亡。

他們去見祭司長和長老，說：「我們已經發了誓，不殺保羅不吃飯。請你們和公會出面通知千夫長，請他把保羅押到你們這裡來，就說要進一步審訊他。我們準備在他到達之前殺掉他！」

因為他們不作惡就無法入睡，不絆倒人就無法安眠；

亞希多弗說：「你父親留下幾個妃嬪看守宮殿，你要跟她們同寢，叫所有的以色列人知道你與父親誓不兩立，這樣支持你的人會更堅定。」於是，他們便為押沙龍在殿頂蓋了一座帳篷，他就當著所有以色列人的面與父親的妃嬪同寢。那時，亞希多弗出的主意如同是來自上帝的話，大衛曾對他言聽計從，現在押沙龍也是一樣。亞希多弗對押沙龍說：「讓我挑選一萬二千人，今夜啟程追趕大衛，趁他疲憊無力的時候襲擊他，使他驚慌失措，他的部下必逃命。我只把王一個人殺掉，把他的部下全都帶來歸順你。你尋索的人既然死了，跟隨他的人必然會歸順你。這樣，大家就平安無事了。」押沙龍和以色列的長老都贊成這個提議。

希羅底對約翰懷恨在心，想要殺掉他，只是不能得逞。因為希律知道約翰是個公義聖潔的人，所以敬畏他，並對他加以保護。儘管約翰所講的道理令他困惑不安，他仍然喜歡聽。機會終於來了。希律在自己的生日那天設宴招待文武百官和加利利的顯要。希羅底的女兒進來跳舞，甚得希律和客人的歡心。王對她說：「你想要什麼，只管說。」王還對她起誓說：「無論你要什麼，哪怕是我的半壁江山，我都會給你。」她便出去問她母親：「我應該要什麼呢？」她母親說：「要施洗者約翰的頭！」

暗嫩有一個朋友名叫約拿達，是大衛長兄示米亞的兒子，生性狡猾。他問暗嫩：「王子，你為什麼一天比一天消沉？能告訴我嗎？」暗嫩答道：「我愛上了我兄弟押沙龍的妹妹她瑪。」約拿達說：「你回去躺在床上裝病，你父親來探望你的時候，你就請求他叫你妹妹她瑪來，在你面前預備食物，請她親手遞給你吃。」

從來沒有人像亞哈那樣受妻子耶洗別唆使，一心做耶和華視為惡的事。

他們明知，按上帝公義的法則，做這些事的人該死，不但執迷不悟，還喜歡別人跟他們同流合污。

列邦挖了陷阱卻自陷其中，設下網羅卻纏住自己的腳。

他們埋伏，卻自流己血；他們伏擊，卻自害己命。

殺人流血，腳步飛快；

哈曼對亞哈隨魯王說：「有一個民族散居在王境內各省的眾民族中，他們的律例與各族的律例不同，他們不遵守王的律例，所以容忍他們對王不利。王若願意，就請降旨消滅他們。我願捐三百四十五噸銀子交給管理國事的人，納入王的庫房。」於是，王摘下手上的戒指，交給猶太人的仇敵——亞甲人哈米大他的兒子哈曼，對他說：「這些銀子歸你，這個民族也交給你，隨你處置。」一月十三日，王的書記被召來，他們以亞哈隨魯王的名義，照哈曼的吩咐，用各省的文字和各族的語言寫諭旨，用王的戒指蓋印，送交各總督、各省省長和各族首領。諭旨由信差送到王的各省，限令在一天之內，即十二月，也就是亞達月十三日，把猶太人的男女老少全部剷除、殺光、滅盡，並奪取他們的財物。諭旨的抄本作為法令頒佈到各省，通知各族為那天做好準備。信差奉王的命令急忙上路，諭旨也在書珊城裡頒佈了。王和哈曼坐下飲酒，書珊城一片慌亂。

他重蹈亞哈家的覆轍，因為他的母親唆使他作惡。他像亞哈家一樣做耶和華視為惡的事，因為他父親死後，亞哈家便唆使他作惡，使他走向滅亡。
