They trust in their wealth and boast of great riches.

So don’t be dismayed when the wicked grow rich and their homes become ever more splendid.For when they die, they take nothing with them. Their wealth will not follow them into the grave.

This is what the Lord says:“ Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the rich boast in their riches.But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the Lord, have spoken!

Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.

This amazed them. But Jesus said again,“ Dear children, it is very hard to enter the Kingdom of God.

he called for Queen Esther. He said,“ The Jews have killed 500 men in the fortress of Susa alone, as well as Haman’s ten sons. The celebration lasted 180 days— a tremendous display of the opulent wealth of his empire and the pomp and splendor of his majesty.

He will say,‘ Each of my princes will soon be a king.

They may have many children, but the children will die in war or starve to death.Those who survive will die of a plague, and not even their widows will mourn them.
