On the third day Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the palace, in front of the king’s hall. The king was sitting on his royal throne in the hall, facing the entrance.

當集書山猶大人、緣我禁食三晝夜、我與侍女亦將禁食、然後入宮覲王、雖違例而亡、亦弗顧也。

國有常例、不蒙君召、擅入深宮覲王者、無論男女、殺無赦、惟王舉金杖、則可保命、臣工億兆咸知之、我未蒙召、已三旬矣。

木底改退衣朝服、厥色白紫、戴金冕、形制甚巨、外衣赤枲、書山邑民、無不忻喜、

俾爾在我國、飲食於我席、居位審以色列十二支派焉、

爾出欲何觀耶、人衣美服乎、夫衣美服者、在王宮也、

王用象牙作大座、飾以兼金、座之階級有六、在座之後、其形維圓、左右有柄、柄旁刻獅象。階級左右亦如之、共十有二、他國未能頡頏。

是以請命、固守其塋三日、恐其徒夜盜之、而以由死復生告民、如是則後謬較甚於先矣、

命王后瓦實地、戴后冕至御前、使臣民得見其美、蓋后有殊色故也。
