On the third day Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the palace, in front of the king’s hall. The king was sitting on his royal throne in the hall, facing the entrance.

「你當去召集書珊所有的猶太人，為我禁食三晝三夜，不吃不喝；我和我的宮女也要這樣禁食。然後我違例去晉見王，我若死就死吧！」

得勝的，我要賜他在我寶座上與我同坐，就如我得了勝，在我父的寶座上與他同坐一般。

王說：「誰在院子裏？」那時哈曼正進入王宮的外院，要請王把末底改掛在他所預備的木架上。

你們不要藉外表來妝飾自己，如編頭髮，戴金飾，穿美麗的衣裳等，而要有蘊藏在人內心不衰退的美，以溫柔嫻靜的心妝飾自己；這在上帝面前是極寶貴的。因為古時仰賴上帝的聖潔婦人正是以此為妝飾，順服自己的丈夫。

「王所有的臣僕和各省的百姓都知道有一個定例，若未奉召見，擅入內院見王的，無論男女必被處死；除非王向他伸出金杖，不得存活。但我沒有被召進去見王已經有三十天了。」

末底改穿着藍色白色的朝服，頭戴大金冠冕，又穿紫色細麻布的外袍，從王面前出來；書珊城充滿了歡樂的呼聲。

使你們在我的國裏坐在我的席上吃喝，並且坐在寶座上審判以色列十二個支派。」

你們出去到底是要看甚麼？看穿細軟衣服的人嗎？那穿細軟衣服的人是在王宮裏。

王又製造一個大的象牙寶座，包上純金。寶座有六層臺階，座的後背是圓的，座位之處兩旁有扶手，靠近扶手有兩隻獅子站立。六層臺階上有十二隻獅子站立，分站左邊和右邊；任何國度都沒有這樣做的。

因此，請吩咐人將墳墓把守妥當，直到第三天，恐怕他的門徒來把他偷了去，就告訴百姓說：『他從死人中復活了。』這樣的話，那後來的迷惑就比先前的更厲害了。」

請瓦實提王后頭戴王后的冠冕到王面前，讓各民族和官員觀看她的美貌，因為她容貌美麗。

「看哪！我差你們出去，如同羊進入狼羣，所以你們要機警如蛇，純真如鴿。
