On the third day Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the palace, in front of the king’s hall. The king was sitting on his royal throne in the hall, facing the entrance.

『你去招聚書珊所找得着的一切猶大人為我禁食，不喫不喝三天，就是三晝三夜；我也這樣，我和我的侍女也要禁食；這樣，我就不照法令進去見王；我若死，就死罷。』

得勝的、我必賜他和我同坐我寶座，正如我得了勝，和我父同坐他寶座一樣。

王說：『誰在院子裏？』那時哈曼正進王宮的外院，要求王將末底改掛在他所給他豫備的示眾木架上。

你們的妝飾呢、不應當是外面的辮頭髮、戴金飾、或穿衣裳的妝飾，乃應當是內心隱藏着的人、以柔和安靜的心靈為不朽壞的妝飾：這在上帝面前是很貴的。從前寄望於上帝的聖別婦人也是這樣自己妝飾，順服她們自己的丈夫。

『王的一切臣僕和各省的人民都知道有一條法令：無論男女，若不蒙召就進入內院去見王的，除非王向他（她）伸出金杖，使他（她）得以活着，一律須被處死：現在我，我沒有蒙召去進見王、已有三十天了。』

末底改穿着藍紫色白色的朝服，戴着大金的冠冕，披着紫紅色細麻布的外袍，從王面前出來；書珊城都發了尖銳聲歡呼快樂。

使你們在我國裏、在我桌子上喫喝；你們也必坐在座位上，審判治理以色列十二個支派。

你們出去，到底要看甚麼？穿着細軟的人麼？看哪，那披着細軟的人是在王宮裏呢。

王造了一個大的象牙寶座，用鍊淨的金子包它。那寶座有六層臺階，寶座後面是個牛頭，坐的地方這邊和那邊有扶手；扶手旁邊有兩隻獅子站立着。在六層臺階上有十二隻獅子在那裏站立着：這邊六隻，那邊六隻：在列國中都沒有這樣作的。

所以請發命令將墓把守妥當、直到第三天；恐怕他門徒來了，把他偷去，卻告訴人民說：「他從死人中活了起來」；這樣，那末後的迷惑就比先前的更厲害了。』

領王后瓦實提戴着王后的冠冕到王面前，使各族之民和大臣看她的美麗；因為她容貌俊美。

『看吧，我差遣你們如同綿羊在豺狼中間；所以你們要靈巧像蛇，要天真像鴿子。
