On the third day Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the palace, in front of the king’s hall. The king was sitting on his royal throne in the hall, facing the entrance.

爾往集書珊城所有之猶大人、為我禁食三晝夜、不食不飲、我與侍女亦如是禁食、然後我違例入而覲王、我若亡則亡矣、

得勝者、我必賜之偕我坐於我之寶座、如我得勝偕我父坐於其寶座然、

時、哈曼適至王宮之外院、欲求王懸末底改於所立之木、王問曰、誰在院中、王之臣僕曰、哈曼立於院、王曰、可使之入、

勿以編髮、戴金、衣美服、外飾為飾、惟以藏於心不可壞之善德、即溫和恬靜之性為飾、此在天主前為寶也、古昔仰賴天主之聖女、亦以此自飾、而服於其夫、

王之一切臣僕、及王各州之民眾、皆知有常例、不蒙王命、擅入內院覲王者、無論男女、必殺無赦、惟王向之舉金圭、則可保命、我未蒙王召、已三旬矣、

末底改出自王前、衣朝服、其色藍白、戴大金冕、亦衣絳絳或作紫枲外袍、書珊城之民、歡呼喜樂、

使爾在我國、飲食於我席、且坐於位、審鞫以色列十二支派、○

爾出、欲何觀耶、觀人衣美服乎、夫衣美服者、在王宮也、

王用象牙作大寶座、蔽以精金、寶座之階級有六、寶座之後惟圓、又作寶座上有圓寶蓋與寶座之背相連寶座之左右有扶手、有二獅、各立於扶手旁、六階級各有獅立、每層二獅、左一右一、共十有二、他國從未製如是之寶座、

故請命固守其墓至第三日、恐其徒夜來、竊其身而告民曰、彼由死復活、如是則後惑較甚於前矣、

請王后瓦實提、首戴后冕、至王前、使臣民得見其美、蓋后貌甚美也、

我遣爾、似羊入狼中、故當巧如蛇、馴如鴿、
