On the third day Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the palace, in front of the king’s hall. The king was sitting on his royal throne in the hall, facing the entrance.

「你當去招聚書珊城所有的猶大人，為我禁食三晝三夜，不吃不喝；我和我的宮女也要這樣禁食。然後我違例進去見王，我若死就死吧！」

得勝的，我要賜他在我寶座上與我同坐，就如我得了勝，在我父的寶座上與他同坐一般。

王說：「誰在院子裏？」（那時哈曼正進王宮的外院，要求王將末底改掛在他所預備的木架上。）

你們不要以外面的辮頭髮，戴金飾，穿美衣為妝飾，只要以裏面存着長久溫柔、安靜的心為妝飾；這在神面前是極寶貴的。因為古時仰賴神的聖潔婦人正是以此為妝飾，順服自己的丈夫，

「王的一切臣僕和各省的人民都知道有一個定例：若不蒙召，擅入內院見王的，無論男女必被治死；除非王向他伸出金杖，不得存活。現在我沒有蒙召進去見王已經三十日了。」

末底改穿着藍色白色的朝服，頭戴大金冠冕，又穿紫色細麻布的外袍，從王面前出來；書珊城的人民都歡呼快樂。

叫你們在我國裏，坐在我的席上吃喝，並且坐在寶座上，審判以色列十二個支派。」

你們出去到底是要看甚麼？要看穿細軟衣服的人嗎？那穿細軟衣服的人是在王宮裏。

王用象牙製造一個寶座，用精金包裹。寶座有六層臺階，座的後背是圓的，兩旁有扶手，靠近扶手有兩個獅子站立。六層臺階上有十二個獅子站立，每層有兩個：左邊一個，右邊一個；在列國中沒有這樣做的。

因此，請吩咐人將墳墓把守妥當，直到第三日，恐怕他的門徒來，把他偷了去，就告訴百姓說：『他從死裏復活了。』這樣，那後來的迷惑比先前的更利害了！」

請王后瓦實提頭戴王后的冠冕到王面前，使各等臣民看她的美貌，因為她容貌甚美。

「我差你們去，如同羊進入狼羣；所以你們要靈巧像蛇，馴良像鴿子。
