當集書山猶大人、緣我禁食三晝夜、我與侍女亦將禁食、然後入宮覲王、雖違例而亡、亦弗顧也。

“ Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”

“ Go. Gather together all the Jews who are in Susa. And fast for my benefit. Don’t eat or drink anything for three days. Don’t do it night or day. I and my attendants will fast just as you do. Then I’ll go to the king. I’ll do it even though it’s against the law. And if I have to die, I’ll die.”

“ Go, gather all the Jews to be found in Susa, and hold a fast on my behalf, and do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my young women will also fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.”

但是我不把自己的生命看為寶貴，為要跑盡我該跑的路程，完成從主耶穌所領受的服事工作，為神恩典的福音鄭重地做見證。

因為凡想要保全自己生命的，將失去生命；凡為我的緣故失去自己生命的，這個人將保全生命。

因為我揀選了他，是要他吩咐他的子孫和後代家族謹守我耶和華的道路，施行公義和公正；好讓我耶和華對亞伯拉罕所說的都應驗在他身上。」

約拿開始進入那城，走了一天的路程，宣告說：「再過四十天，尼尼微就要覆滅了。」尼尼微人就相信神，並宣告禁食，無論尊貴的或卑微的，都披上麻布。這話語傳到尼尼微王的時候，他從自己的寶座上起來，從身上脫下王袍，披上麻布，坐在灰燼中。然後他頒布諭令，說：「在尼尼微，王和大臣有令：『無論人或牲畜，牛或羊，都不可嘗什麼，不可吃什麼，也不可喝水。人和牲畜都當披上麻布；各人都當迫切地向神呼求，從自己邪惡的道路上、自己手裡的殘暴中轉回。或許神會轉回、施憐憫，從他猛烈的怒氣中轉回，使我們不致滅亡。』」

願全能的神使你們在那人面前蒙憐憫，好讓他可以把你們那個兄弟和便雅憫都交還給你們。至於我，如果要喪失兒子，就喪失吧！」

到了第三天，以斯帖穿上王后袍，站在王宮的內院，面對王宮；王在王宮裡坐在寶座上，面對王宮的入口。

要堅強，我們要為我們的人民、為我們神的城鎮而堅強！願耶和華做他眼中看為好的事。」

為我的生命，他們將自己的生死置之度外。不單我感激他們，就是外邦的各教會也都感激他們。

到那日，主萬軍之耶和華呼籲你們哭泣哀號、剃光頭髮、束上麻布。

因為他為了基督的工作，幾乎至死，冒了生命的危險，為要彌補你們服事我的缺乏。

他三天不能看見，不吃也不喝。

天快亮的時候，保羅勸大家用飯，說：「你們一直挨餓等候，什麼都不吃，今天是第十四天了。

就是說，正如約拿在大魚的肚子裡三天三夜，人子也照樣將要在地心三天三夜。

這時候保羅說：「你們為什麼哭，使我心碎呢？我為了主耶穌的名，不僅被捆綁，即使死在耶路撒冷，也都預備好了。」

他冒著生命危險，擊殺了那非利士人；耶和華為全以色列施行了大拯救。那時你看見了就歡喜，現在你為什麼要犯罪流無辜人的血，無故殺大衛呢？」

向哥尼流說話的天使離開以後，哥尼流叫來兩個家僕和常伺候他的一個敬神的士兵，
