這時你若硬不作聲，那麼給予猶大人的濟助和援救總會從別處應時而起的，那麼你和你父的家就會滅亡了。你怎麼知道你之得了王后位分、不是為了此次這機會而得的呢？』

如果你在這個時候沉默不語，幫助和解救就會從別的地方為猶太人興起，而你和你的父家將會滅亡。誰知道，你得了王后之位，或許就是為了這樣一個時候！」

今爾得居后位、焉知非為此會、如爾斯時緘默無言、則猶大人必從他方、得解脫、蒙拯救、惟爾與父家、將見剿滅耳、

今爾居尊位、意者將使爾保全我族、未可知也、如爾竟無一言、必有他人援手、恐爾與全家、卒見剿滅耳。

此時、爾若緘默不言、猶大人或自他處得解脫救援、爾與爾父家必皆滅亡、其時難保爾仍居后位、或作爾居后位正為欲爾救我族今日之難亦未可知爾若緘默不言猶大人或自他處得解脫救援爾與父家必皆滅亡

For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

What if you don’t say anything at this time? Then help for the Jews will come from another place. But you and your family will die. Who knows? It’s possible that you became queen for a time just like this.”

If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”

If you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will come to the Jewish people from another place, but you and your father’s family will be destroyed. Who knows, perhaps you have come to your royal position for such a time as this.”

For if you keep silent at this time, liberation and rescue will arise for the Jews from another place, and you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?”

For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then will relief and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place, but thou and thy father’s house will perish: and who knoweth whether thou art not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

If you keep silent at this time, liberation and deliverance will come to the Jewish people from another place, but you and your father’s house will be destroyed. Who knows, perhaps you have come to your royal position for such a time as this.”

For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time,[ then] shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for[ such] a time as this?

“ Don’t imagine that because you are part of the king’s household you will be the one Jew who will escape. If you keep quiet at this time, liberation and protection for the Jews will appear from another source, while you and your father’s household perish. It may very well be that you have achieved royal status for such a time as this!”

For if you remain silent now, then relief and deliverance will come to the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Who knows if you haven’t come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

So Joseph said to his brothers,“ Come near to me, please.” And they came near. And he said,“ I am your brother, Joseph, whom you sold into Egypt.And now do not be distressed or angry with yourselves because you sold me here, for God sent me before you to preserve life.For the famine has been in the land these two years, and there are yet five years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvest.And God sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant on earth, and to keep alive for you many survivors.So it was not you who sent me here, but God. For the Lord will not forsake his people, for his great name’s sake, because it has pleased the Lord to make you a people for himself.

no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.”

For the Lord will vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants, when he sees that their power is gone and there is none remaining, bond or free.

At this time Moses was born; and he was beautiful in God’s sight. He was bringing up Hadassah, that is Esther, the daughter of his uncle, for she had neither father nor mother. The young woman had a beautiful figure and was lovely to look at, and when her father and her mother died, Mordecai took her as his own daughter.

“ Have you not observed that these people are saying,‘ The Lord has rejected the two clans that he chose’? Thus they have despised my people so that they are no longer a nation in their sight.Thus says the Lord: If I have not established my covenant with day and night and the fixed order of heaven and earth,then I will reject the offspring of Jacob and David my servant and will not choose one of his offspring to rule over the offspring of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will restore their fortunes and will have mercy on them.”

I would have said,“ I will cut them to pieces; I will wipe them from human memory,”had I not feared provocation by the enemy, lest their adversaries should misunderstand, lest they should say,“ Our hand is triumphant, it was not the Lord who did all this.”’

And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.

On the fourth day they said to Samson’s wife,“ Entice your husband to tell us what the riddle is, lest we burn you and your father’s house with fire. Have you invited us here to impoverish us?”And Samson’s wife wept over him and said,“ You only hate me; you do not love me. You have put a riddle to my people, and you have not told me what it is.” And he said to her,“ Behold, I have not told my father nor my mother, and shall I tell you?”She wept before him the seven days that their feast lasted, and on the seventh day he told her, because she pressed him hard. Then she told the riddle to her people.And the men of the city said to him on the seventh day before the sun went down,“ What is sweeter than honey? What is stronger than a lion?” And he said to them,“ If you had not plowed with my heifer, you would not have found out my riddle.”

And David said,“ What have I done now? Was it not but a word?”

They said to him,“ Thus says Hezekiah, This day is a day of distress, of rebuke, and of disgrace; children have come to the point of birth, and there is no strength to bring them forth.

he will not let me get my breath, but fills me with bitterness.

Then the Philistines said,“ Who has done this?” And they said,“ Samson, the son-in-law of the Timnite, because he has taken his wife and given her to his companion.” And the Philistines came up and burned her and her father with fire.

So Abraham called the name of that place,“ The Lord will provide”; as it is said to this day,“ On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided.”
