這時你若硬不作聲，那麼給予猶大人的濟助和援救總會從別處應時而起的，那麼你和你父的家就會滅亡了。你怎麼知道你之得了王后位分、不是為了此次這機會而得的呢？』

今爾得居后位、焉知非為此會、如爾斯時緘默無言、則猶大人必從他方、得解脫、蒙拯救、惟爾與父家、將見剿滅耳、

今爾居尊位、意者將使爾保全我族、未可知也、如爾竟無一言、必有他人援手、恐爾與全家、卒見剿滅耳。

此時、爾若緘默不言、猶大人或自他處得解脫救援、爾與爾父家必皆滅亡、其時難保爾仍居后位、或作爾居后位正為欲爾救我族今日之難亦未可知爾若緘默不言猶大人或自他處得解脫救援爾與父家必皆滅亡

For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

What if you don’t say anything at this time? Then help for the Jews will come from another place. But you and your family will die. Who knows? It’s possible that you became queen for a time just like this.”

For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”

If you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will come to the Jewish people from another place, but you and your father’s family will be destroyed. Who knows, perhaps you have come to your royal position for such a time as this.”

For if you keep silent at this time, liberation and rescue will arise for the Jews from another place, and you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?”

For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then will relief and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place, but thou and thy father’s house will perish: and who knoweth whether thou art not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

If you keep silent at this time, liberation and deliverance will come to the Jewish people from another place, but you and your father’s house will be destroyed. Who knows, perhaps you have come to your royal position for such a time as this.”

For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time,[ then] shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for[ such] a time as this?

“ Don’t imagine that because you are part of the king’s household you will be the one Jew who will escape. If you keep quiet at this time, liberation and protection for the Jews will appear from another source, while you and your father’s household perish. It may very well be that you have achieved royal status for such a time as this!”

For if you remain silent now, then relief and deliverance will come to the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Who knows if you haven’t come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

約瑟對他的兄弟們說：「請你們靠近我一些！」他們就靠近一些。他說：「我是你們的兄弟約瑟，就是被你們賣到埃及的約瑟。現在，不要因你們把我賣到這裡而自憂自恨；要知道，是神在你們之前派遣了我，為要拯救生命。如今，這地已經有兩年的饑荒，還會有五年既沒有耕種，也沒有收成。神在你們之前派遣了我，為要在地上給你們存留餘種，並要大施解救，使你們得以存活。這樣看來，派遣我到這裡來的，不是你們，而是神。他立我作法老之父，作他全家之主，又作埃及全地的管轄者。

要知道，耶和華為他大名的緣故，必不會撇棄他的子民，因為耶和華願意你們作他的子民。

任何為攻擊你而造的武器，都必不奏效；任何在審判時起來用舌頭攻擊你的，都必被你定罪。以上是耶和華僕人們的繼業，他們的公義從我而來。」這是耶和華的宣告。

就在那時候，摩西出生了。他在神的眼裡十分俊美，在父親家裡被撫養了三個月。後來他被丟棄的時候，法老的女兒把他撿去，當做自己的兒子撫養。摩西在埃及人的一切智慧上受了教育，說話行事都有能力。「當他滿四十歲的時候，心裡決定要去探望自己的同胞以色列子民。他看見一個同胞受欺負，就去衛護他，為那受壓迫的人報仇，打死了那個埃及人。摩西以為自己的同胞會領悟神是藉著他的手拯救他們，但他們卻不領悟。

以斯帖是末迪凱的叔叔亞比亥的女兒，後來被末迪凱收作自己的女兒；輪到她去見王的時候，除了掌管女人的王室太監希該所安排的以外，她別無所求。以斯帖在所有看見她的人眼前蒙恩。

君王們必作你兒女的撫養人，王后們必作你兒女的乳母；他們必臉伏於地，向你下拜，舔你腳上的塵土。那時，你就知道：我是耶和華，等候我的必不致蒙羞。」

我還告訴你：你是彼得，我要在這磐石上建立我的教會，陰間的門不能勝過它。

末迪凱撫養著他叔叔的女兒哈達莎，就是以斯帖，因為她沒有父母。這年輕女子身材秀美、容貌美麗。在她父母死的時候，末迪凱就把她收作自己的女兒。

如果那些日子不被減少，就沒有一個人能得救。可是為了那些蒙揀選的人，那些日子將被減少。

大衛說：「我究竟做了什麼呢？不就是問了一句話嗎？」

耶和華緊拉著居魯士的右手，讓列國降服在他面前，使君王們的腰帶鬆開；又讓門在他面前敞開，使城門也不關閉——耶和華對所膏立的居魯士如此說：「我必在你前面行，修平崎嶇之地；我要打碎銅門，砍斷鐵閂。我要把暗處的寶物和隱祕處的寶藏賜給你，好讓你知道：是我耶和華以色列的神提你的名召喚了你。為我僕人雅各、我所揀選的以色列的緣故，我提你的名召喚你；你雖然不認識我，我卻給你一個尊名。我是耶和華，別無其二；除我以外沒有神。你雖然不認識我，我卻裝備你；

亞伯拉罕給那地方起名為「耶和華以勒」；因此直到今天，人們還說：「在耶和華的山上必有預備。」
