In the twelfth year of King Xerxes, in the first month, the month of Nisan, the pur( that is, the lot) was cast in the presence of Haman to select a day and month. And the lot fell on the twelfth month, the month of Adar.

The lot was cast in front of Haman. The lot was called Pur. It was cast in the first month of the 12th year that Xerxes was king. That month was called Nisan. The lot was cast to choose a day and a month. The month chosen was the 12th month. That month was called Adar.

In the first month, which is the month of Nisan, in the twelfth year of King Ahasuerus, they cast Pur( that is, they cast lots) before Haman day after day; and they cast it month after month till the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar.

So in the month of April, during the twelfth year of King Xerxes’ reign, lots were cast in Haman’s presence( the lots were called purim) to determine the best day and month to take action. And the day selected was March 7, nearly a year later.

大流士王第六年，亚达月初三，这殿完工了。

因为犹太人的仇敌亚甲人哈米大他的儿子哈曼设谋要杀害犹太人，抽普珥，普珥即签，为要杀尽灭绝他们；但这阴谋到了王面前，王却降旨使哈曼谋害犹太人的恶事归到他自己的头上，他和他的众子都被挂在木架上。所以犹太人照着普珥这名字称这两日为普珥日。他们因这信上一切的话，又因所看见所遇见的事，

因为巴比伦王站在岔路上，在两条路口占卜。他摇签求问神像，察看肝脏；右手是耶路撒冷的占卜，以便安设撞城槌，张口喊杀，扬声呼叫，建土堆，筑堡垒，以撞城槌攻打城门。

人虽可掷签在膝上，定事却由耶和华。

犹太人用刀击杀所有的仇敌，杀灭他们，随意待那些恨他们的人。

吩咐他们每年守亚达月十四、十五两日，

十二月，就是亚达月十三日，王的谕旨和敕令要执行的那一日，犹太人的仇敌盼望制伏他们，但犹太人反倒制伏了恨他们的人。

他在位第三年，为所有官员和臣仆摆设宴席，有波斯和玛代的权贵，各省的贵族与领袖在他面前。

亚哈随鲁王第七年十月，就是提别月，以斯帖被引入宫中朝见王。

他们把他钉在十字架上，然后抽签分了他的衣服，

亚达薛西王二十年尼散月，酒摆在王面前，我拿起酒来奉给王。我在王面前从来没有愁容。
