In the twelfth year of King Xerxes, in the first month, the month of Nisan, the pur( that is, the lot) was cast in the presence of Haman to select a day and month. And the lot fell on the twelfth month, the month of Adar.

The lot was cast in front of Haman. The lot was called Pur. It was cast in the first month of the 12th year that Xerxes was king. That month was called Nisan. The lot was cast to choose a day and a month. The month chosen was the 12th month. That month was called Adar.

In the first month, which is the month of Nisan, in the twelfth year of King Ahasuerus, they cast Pur( that is, they cast lots) before Haman day after day; and they cast it month after month till the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar.

So in the month of April, during the twelfth year of King Xerxes’ reign, lots were cast in Haman’s presence( the lots were called purim) to determine the best day and month to take action. And the day selected was March 7, nearly a year later.

In the first month, the month of Nisan, in King Ahasuerus’s twelfth year, the pur— that is, the lot— was cast before Haman for each day in each month, and it fell on the twelfth month, the month Adar.

到亞達月三日這殿就造出來：那是在大利烏王執掌國政的第六年。

因為猶大眾人的敵人、亞甲族哈米大他的兒子哈曼計謀要害猶大人來消滅他們；他抽「普珥」、就是抽籤，要殺盡、來消滅他們。但這事報到王面前時，王便用詔書吩咐，使哈曼所計畫的惡事、就是他所計謀要害猶大人的、歸到他自己頭上，又使人把他和他的眾子掛在示眾木上。故此猶大人因「普珥」這名字、就把這兩天叫做普珥節；故此他們因這文書上一切的話，又因他們在這方面所看見、所遇見的事，

因為巴比倫王站在岔路口，在兩條路頭上行占卜；他搖箭籤，求問神像，察看祭牲的肝兒。他右手中拿到有「耶路撒冷」字樣的占卜籤，以便開口叫殺，揚聲吶喊，倒土堆築壘，設撞城錘以攻打城門。

抽的籤儘可以拋在人懷裏，定其事卻全是由於永恆主。

這是在亞達月十三日的事。在十四日他們就休息，以十四日一天作為宴飲歡樂的日子。但在書珊的猶大人乃是在十三十四日聚集殺敵的；他們是在十五日休息，以十五日這一天作為宴飲歡樂的日子的。因此猶大人、住在無牆之城的鄉下人、都以亞達月十四日作為歡樂宴飲的日子，作為休假日，彼此贈送禮物。

猶大人用刀擊殺了他們一切的仇敵，屠殺了、殺滅了他們，隨意待那恨惡他們的人。

囑咐他們年年都要守亞達月十四日和十五日；

十二月、就是亞達月、十三日、王的諭旨勅令正要執行的時候，正當猶大人的仇敵盼望轄制他們，而猶大人反倒轄制恨惡他們的人、那日子，

他執政第三年、曾為他的眾官長和臣僕擺設了筵席；有波斯和瑪代的權貴各省最顯達的人和官長、在他面前；

亞哈隨魯王執掌國政第七年十月、就是提別月、以斯帖被帶領進王宮、去見亞哈隨魯王。

他們既把他釘了十字架，就拈鬮分他的衣裳；

亞達薛西王二十年、尼散月、有酒在王面前，我拿起酒來奉給王。我素來在王面前都未曾有過愁容。
