The members of the royal staff at the King’s Gate asked Mordecai,“ Why are you disobeying the king’s command?”

在朝门的臣仆问末底改说：“你为何违背王的命令呢？”

在朝门，王的臣仆对末底改说：“你为何违背王的命令呢？”

在朝门，王的臣仆对末底改说：“你为何违背王的命令呢？”

在宫门供职的臣仆问末底改：“你为何违抗王的命令？”

于是在朝门的臣仆问末底改：“你为什么违背王的命令呢？”

在御门那里王的臣仆们就问末迪凯：“你为什么违背王的命令呢？”

在朝門的臣僕問末底改說：「你為何違背王的命令呢？」

在朝門，王的臣僕對末底改說：「你為何違背王的命令呢？」

在朝門，王的臣僕對末底改說：「你為何違背王的命令呢？」

在宮門供職的臣僕問末底改：「你為何違抗王的命令？」

於是在朝門的臣僕問末底改：“你為甚麼違背王的命令呢？”

在御門那裏的、王的臣僕便問末底改說：『為甚麼惟獨你越犯王的命令呢？』

在御門那裡王的臣僕們就問末迪凱：「你為什麼違背王的命令呢？」

御門臣僕問之曰、爾奚違王命、

同寮問之曰、爾奚違王命。

御門行走之王臣、問末底改曰、爾奚違王命、

Then the royal officials at the king’s gate asked Mordecai,“ Why do you disobey the king’s command?”

The royal officials at the palace gate asked Mordecai a question. They said,“ Why don’t you obey the king’s command?”

Then the king’s servants who were at the king’s gate said to Mordecai,“ Why do you transgress the king’s command?”

Then the palace officials at the king’s gate asked Mordecai,“ Why are you disobeying the king’s command?”

Then the king’s servants who were at the king’s gate said to Mordecai,“ Why are you violating the king’s command?”

Then the king’s servants who were within the king’s gate said to Mordecai,“ Why do you transgress the king’s command?”

Then the king’s servants, that were in the king’s gate, said unto Mordecai, Why transgressest thou the king’s commandment?

The members of the royal staff at the King’s Gate asked Mordecai,“ Why are you disobeying the king’s command?”

Then the king’s servants, which[ were] in the king’s gate, said unto Mordecai, Why transgressest thou the king’s commandment?

Then the servants of the king who were at the king’s gate asked Mordecai,“ Why are you violating the king’s commandment?”

Then the king’s servants, who were in the king’s gate, said to Mordecai,“ Why do you disobey the king’s commandment?”

The entire royal staff at the King’s Gate bowed down and paid homage to Haman, because the king had commanded this to be done for him. But Mordecai would not bow down or pay homage.

When the virgins were gathered a second time, Mordecai was sitting at the King’s Gate.

The midwives, however, feared God and did not do as the king of Egypt had told them; they let the boys live.

“ Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their hands when they eat.”He answered them,“ Why do you break God’s commandment because of your tradition?
