末底改穿着藍紫色白色的朝服，戴着大金的冠冕，披着紫紅色細麻布的外袍，從王面前出來；書珊城都發了尖銳聲歡呼快樂。

那些以大碗喝酒，用上好的油抹身，卻不為約瑟的破敗而憂傷成病的！

因為他們的腳奔跑行壞事；他們倉惶急迫地流人的血。

『你去招聚書珊所找得着的一切猶大人為我禁食，不喫不喝三天，就是三晝三夜；我也這樣，我和我的侍女也要禁食；這樣，我就不照法令進去見王；我若死，就死罷。』

為了他們的緣故、住在地上的人就歡喜快樂，彼此送禮，因為這兩位神言人實在叫住在地上的人受了苦痛。

在我們的王宴樂的日子，首領們因酒的烈性而生病；王伸手拉攏褻慢人，

義人執政，人民就喜樂；惡人掌權，人民就歎息。

我實實在在地告訴你們，你們必哭泣哀號，而世人卻要歡喜；你們必憂愁，但你們的憂愁必變為喜樂。

因為他們若不行惡，就睡不着覺；若不使人跌倒，其安眠就被奪去。
