It included women and children. All the Jews were supposed to be killed on a single day. That day was the 13th day of the 12th month. It was the month of Adar. The orders also commanded people to take everything that belonged to the Jews.

末底改奉亞哈隨魯王的名寫諭旨，用王的戒指蓋印，讓信差騎王室快馬送往各地。諭旨上說，王准許各城的猶太人在十二月，即亞達月十三日，聚集起來自衛，剷除、殺光、滅盡各族各省攻擊他們的仇敵及其兒女、妻子，奪取仇敵的財物。

因為不憐憫人的會受到無情的審判，但憐憫勝過審判。

「我的年日比信差還快，匆匆而過，不見幸福。

報信的人接踵而來，向巴比倫王稟告，『整座城已失守，

他又把祭司城挪伯的男女老少、牛羊和驢全部殺掉。

殺人流血，腳步飛快；

因為我和我本族的人都被賣了，我們將被剷除、殺光、滅盡。如果只是賣我們為奴為婢，我會閉口不語，因為那樣的痛苦不值得來打擾王。」

我要差遣他去攻打一個不虔敬的國家，一個惹我發怒的民族，去搶奪、擄掠他們的財物，像踐踏街上的泥土一樣踐踏他們。
