他執政第三年、曾為他的眾官長和臣僕擺設了筵席；有波斯和瑪代的權貴各省最顯達的人和官長、在他面前；他把他光榮之國的豐富和他宏大威儀之華貴給他們看了許多日子，共有一百八十天。這些日子滿了，王又為所有在書珊宮堡的眾民、無論尊大卑小、在王宮花園的院子擺設了筵席七天。

『你被人請去赴婚筵，不要坐在首位上。恐怕有比你尊貴的被他請來；

你們要出去看所羅門王戴着冠冕，就是他結婚的日子、他心中喜樂時、他母親給他戴上的。

於是利未人使眾民安靜下來，說：『今天是聖日；你們要安然自在，不要憂愁。』

賜飲是用金器皿；器皿和器皿也各不同；御酒很多，按照王的大手面而賜飲。

拉班就聚集那地方的眾人，擺設筵席。

『天國好比一個做王的人，為兒子辦婚筵，

請問你僮僕，他們自會告訴你的。為此願我的僮僕得到你顧愛；因為我們是在佳節日子來的；求你將隨手找得着的給僕人和你兒子大衛。」』

我的妹妹、新婦啊，我進了我的園中，摘取了我的沒藥同香料，喫了我的蜜房同蜂蜜，喝了我的酒同奶子。朋友啊，喫吧！喝吧！沉醉於愛情中哦！

作為猶大人脫離仇敵、得享平安的日子，作為從愁苦轉為歡樂、從悲哀轉為快樂的假日月份，叫他們以這兩天作為宴飲歡樂的日子，彼此贈送禮物、給窮人送恩物。

參孫的父親下去到那女子那裏，參孫在那裏辦了筵席，因為做新郎的都這樣行。眾人看見參孫，就請了三十個人陪伴他。參孫對他們說：『我給你們出個謎語，你們在七天筵宴之內若能將它的意思切實告訴我，並猜得出，我就給你們三十件亞麻襯衣、三十套衣服。你們若不能告訴我，你們就給我三十件亞麻襯衣、三十套衣服』；他們對他說：『請將謎語說給我們聽。』參孫對他們說：『可喫的出於喫者；甜的出於強者。』三天他們都不能說出謎語的意思。到了第七天、他們對參孫的妻子說：『你誆哄你丈夫，將謎語的意思告訴我們吧，免得我們用火燒你和你父親的房屋。難道你們請了我們來，是要奪取我們所有的麼？』參孫的妻子在丈夫面前哭着說：『你只是恨我，不是愛我；你給我本國的子民出謎語，卻沒有將意思告訴我。』參孫對她說：『你看，連我父母、我都沒有告訴，怎能告訴你呢？』在有筵宴的七天之內、那婦人在丈夫面前一逕哭哭啼啼，到了第七天她逼着他很厲害，他才告訴她；婦人便將謎語的意思告訴她本國的人。

天使對我說：『你要寫下來：「被請赴羔羊婚筵的有福啊！」』又對我說：『這些話是上帝真實的話。』

為了他們的緣故、住在地上的人就歡喜快樂，彼此送禮，因為這兩位神言人實在叫住在地上的人受了苦痛。
