Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.

Slaves, obey your masters here on earth. Respect them and honor them with a heart that is true. Obey them just as you would obey Christ.

Bondservants, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ,

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ.

Slaves, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart, as to Christ;

Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ;

Servants, be obedient unto them that according to the flesh are your masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;

Household slaves, submit to your masters with all reverence not only to the good and gentle ones but also to the cruel.For it brings favor if, because of a consciousness of God, someone endures grief from suffering unjustly.For what credit is there if when you do wrong and are beaten, you endure it? But when you do what is good and suffer, if you endure it, this brings favor with God.For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.

Slaves are to submit to their masters in everything, and to be well-pleasing, not talking backor stealing, but demonstrating utter faithfulness, so that they may adorn the teaching of God our Savior in everything.

And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.Husbands, love your wives and don’t be bitter toward them.Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.Fathers, do not exasperate your children, so that they won’t become discouraged.Slaves, obey your human masters in everything. Don’t work only while being watched, as people-pleasers, but work wholeheartedly, fearing the Lord.Whatever you do, do it from the heart, as something done for the Lord and not for people,knowing that you will receive the reward of an inheritance from the Lord. You serve the Lord Christ.

“ A son honors his father, and a servant his master. But if I am a father, where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is your fear of me? says the LORD of Armies to you priests, who despise my name.” Yet you ask,“ How have we despised your name?”

Like a servant’s eyes on his master’s hand, like a servant girl’s eyes on her mistress’s hand, so our eyes are on the LORD our God until he shows us favor.

All who are under the yoke as slaves should regard their own masters as worthy of all respect, so that God’s name and his teaching will not be blasphemed.Let those who have believing masters not be disrespectful to them because they are brothers, but serve them even better, since those who benefit from their service are believers and dearly loved. Teach and encourage these things.If anyone teaches false doctrine and does not agree with the sound teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the teaching that promotes godliness,

Therefore, my dear friends, just as you have always obeyed, so now, not only in my presence but even more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord,

For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy, because I have promised you in marriage to one husband— to present a pure virgin to Christ.But I fear that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your minds may be seduced from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

when they observe your pure, reverent lives.

Teach me your way, LORD, and I will live by your truth. Give me an undivided mind to fear your name.

I know, my God, that you test the heart and that you are pleased with what is right. I have willingly given all these things with an upright heart, and now I have seen your people who are present here giving joyfully and willingly to you.

“ Therefore, fear the LORD and worship him in sincerity and truth. Get rid of the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and worship the LORD.

no longer as a slave, but more than a slave— as a dearly loved brother. He is especially so to me, but how much more to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord.

Grace be with all who have undying love for our Lord Jesus Christ.

“ The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light.

Indeed, this is our boast: The testimony of our conscience is that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially toward you, with godly sincerity and purity, not by human wisdom but by God’s grace.

Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with joyful and sincere hearts,

When the angel who spoke to him had gone, he called two of his household servants and a devout soldier, who was one of those who attended him.After explaining everything to them, he sent them to Joppa.

For I too am a man under authority, having soldiers under my command. I say to this one,‘ Go,’ and he goes; and to another,‘ Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant,‘ Do this!’ and he does it.”

And his affection toward you is even greater as he remembers the obedience of all of you, and how you received him with fear and trembling.

“ No one can serve two masters, since either he will hate one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

I came to you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling.

For he who is called by the Lord as a slave is the Lord’s freedman. Likewise he who is called as a free man is Christ’s slave.

The angel of the LORD said to her,“ Go back to your mistress and submit to her authority.”
