要穿戴上帝的軍裝，使你們能站穩、來抵擋魔鬼的詭計。因為我們的戰鬥並不是對屬血與肉的人，乃是對「眾執政的」、「眾掌權的」、對那些統轄這「黑暗」世界的、對天界中諸惡靈。故此你們要拿起上帝的軍裝，好在險惡的日子能抵擋得住；並且既作成了一切事，還能站穩。所以你們要站穩，你們的腰用真誠束好了，義的胸甲穿上了，也把和平福音之準備着上了腳。此外又拿起了信仰的盾牌；用這個就能撲滅那邪惡者一切燒𤏲的箭。你們要把救恩的頭盔和聖靈的寶劍、就是上帝的話語、接過來。

我們交戰的武器並不是屬肉體的，乃是有屬神之能力的；能夠攻倒堅固的營壘，

要爭取時機，因為現在的日子很險惡。

你們要時刻覺醒，時常祈禱，使你們得勝，能逃避這一切要來的事，得以站在人子面前。』

那些在磐石上的、是人聽了道、就歡歡喜喜地接受；這些沒有根，是暫時相信的；在受試煉時就背棄了。

你既執守了我堅忍之道，我也必保守你經過試驗的鐘點，就是必須臨到普天下，來試驗住在地上之人的。

但他來的日子誰能當得起呢？他顯現時、誰能站立得住呢？『因為他像煉金之人的火，像漂布之人的鹼。

你要在青年的日子想念着創造你、的主，就是在衰敗的日子還未來到，在你所說對於它毫無樂趣的那些年日還未臨近之先，

有禍啊那些擅自把災禍之日推遠，反把強暴之座位挪近的！

因為他們遭上帝義怒的大日子到了，誰能站得住呢？

你們那裏的人、基督耶穌的僕人以巴弗、給你們問安；他在禱告中時常為你們奮鬥，要叫你們站穩、做長大成熟的人，在上帝的一切旨意上有着堅確的信念。

別讓人用虛空的話欺騙你們了；因為為了這些事、上帝之義怒正臨到悖逆之人呢。
