因为丈夫是妻子的头，好像基督是教会的头；基督又是教会全体的救主。

但是我愿意你们知道，基督是男人的头，男人是女人的头（“男人是女人的头”或译：“丈夫是妻子的头”），神是基督的头。男人祷告或讲道的时候，如果蒙着头，就是羞辱自己的头。女人祷告或讲道的时候，如果不蒙着头，就是羞辱自己的头，因为这就好像剃了头发一样。女人要不蒙着头，她就应当把头发剪了；如果女人以为剪发或剃头是羞耻的事，她就应当蒙着头。男人不应蒙着头，因为他是神的形象和荣耀，而女人是男人的荣耀。因为男人不是由女人而出，女人却是由男人而出，并且男人不是为了女人而造的，女人却是为了男人而造的。因此，为天使的缘故，女人应当在头上有服权柄的记号。

他是身体的头，这身体就是教会。他是元始，是死人中首先复生的，好让他在凡事上居首位；

却要在爱中过诚实的生活，在各方面长进，达到基督的身量。他是教会的头，

神又使万有都归服在他的脚下，并且赐他给教会作万有的元首。教会是他的身体，是那充满万有者所完全充满的。

你们作丈夫的，要爱妻子，好像基督爱教会，为教会舍己，为的是要用水藉着道把教会洗净，成为圣洁，

他们唱着新歌，说：“你配取书卷，配拆开封印，因为你曾被杀，曾用你的血，从各支派、各方言、各民族、各邦国，把人买了来归给神，

食物是为了肚腹，肚腹是为了食物；但神却要把这两样都废掉。身体不是为了淫乱，而是为了主，主也是为了身体。

并且等候他的儿子从天降临。这就是神使他从死人中复活，救我们脱离将来的忿怒的那位耶稣。

圣灵既然立你们为全群的监督，牧养神用自己的血所赎来的教会，你们就应当为自己谨慎，也为全群谨慎。
