不要醉酒，醉酒帶來放蕩，而要被聖靈充滿：

勿酗酒而蕩檢、惟充以聖神、

勿酗酒蕩檢、惟感以聖神、

勿醉酒、酒使人放肆無節、惟當感以聖神、

勿酗酒而蕩檢、當醉心於聖神；

Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit,

Don’t fill yourself up with wine. Getting drunk will lead to wild living. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit.

And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,

Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,

And don’t get drunk with wine, which leads to reckless living, but be filled by the Spirit:

And be not drunken with wine, wherein is riot, but be filled with the Spirit;

Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,

Wine is a mocker, Strong drink is a brawler, And whoever is led astray by it is not wise.

For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.

Woe to men mighty at drinking wine, Woe to men valiant for mixing intoxicating drink,

envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner— not even to eat with such a person.

Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy.

For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night.

For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord.

Others mocking said,“ They are full of new wine.”But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them,“ Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words.For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:‘ And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy.

nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

“ But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly.

For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles— when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.In regard to these, they think it strange that you do not run with them in the same flood of dissipation, speaking evil of you.

Woe to those who rise early in the morning, That they may follow intoxicating drink; Who continue until night, till wine inflames them!The harp and the strings, The tambourine and flute, And wine are in their feasts; But they do not regard the work of the Lord, Nor consider the operation of His hands.Therefore my people have gone into captivity, Because they have no knowledge; Their honorable men are famished, And their multitude dried up with thirst.

And they shall say to the elders of his city,‘ This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious; he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.’

Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has contentions? Who has complaints? Who has wounds without cause? Who has redness of eyes?Those who linger long at the wine, Those who go in search of mixed wine.Do not look on the wine when it is red, When it sparkles in the cup, When it swirls around smoothly;At the last it bites like a serpent, And stings like a viper.Your eyes will see strange things, And your heart will utter perverse things.Yes, you will be like one who lies down in the midst of the sea, Or like one who lies at the top of the mast, saying:“ They have struck me, but I was not hurt; They have beaten me, but I did not feel it. When shall I awake, that I may seek another drink?”

Draw me away! THE DAUGHTERS OF JERUSALEM We will run after you. THE SHULAMITE The king has brought me into his chambers. THE DAUGHTERS OF JERUSALEM We will be glad and rejoice in you. we will remember your love more than wine. THE SHULAMITE: Rightly do they love you.

The Lord of hosts will defend them; They shall devour and subdue with slingstones. They shall drink and roar as if with wine; They shall be filled with blood like basins, Like the corners of the altar.The Lord their God will save them in that day, As the flock of His people. For they shall be like the jewels of a crown, Lifted like a banner over His land—For how great is its goodness And how great its beauty! Grain shall make the young men thrive, And new wine the young women.

Do not mix with winebibbers, Or with gluttonous eaters of meat;For the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, And drowsiness will clothe a man with rags.

But if that servant says in his heart,‘ My master is delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk,

if a man is blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of dissipation or insubordination.

Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve the lineage of our father.”So they made their father drink wine that night. And the firstborn went in and lay with her father, and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose.It happened on the next day that the firstborn said to the younger,“ Indeed I lay with my father last night; let us make him drink wine tonight also, and you go in and lie with him, that we may preserve the lineage of our father.”Then they made their father drink wine that night also. “ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence.

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

Then he drank of the wine and was drunk, and became uncovered in his tent.

And in this mountain The Lord of hosts will make for all people A feast of choice pieces, A feast of wines on the lees, Of fat things full of marrow, Of well-refined wines on the lees.

For in eating, each one takes his own supper ahead of others; and one is hungry and another is drunk.

Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You.Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips.

“ Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price.

Those who sit in the gate speak against me, And I am the song of the drunkards.

and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards,

And the roof of your mouth like the best wine. THE SHULAMITE: The wine goes down smoothly for my beloved, Moving gently the lips of sleepers.
