To me, the very least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

if it is so that you have heard of the administration of that grace of God which was given me toward you,

having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us: if prophecy, let’s prophesy according to the proportion of our faith;or service, let’s give ourselves to service; or he who teaches, to his teaching;or he who exhorts, to his exhorting; he who gives, let him do it with generosity; he who rules, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

God has set some in the assembly: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracle workers, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, and various kinds of languages.Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all miracle workers?Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with various languages? Do all interpret?

For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for God gives the Spirit without measure.

To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his own ability. Then he went on his journey.

Therefore he says,“ When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts to people.”Now this,“ He ascended”, what is it but that he also first descended into the lower parts of the earth?He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, shepherds and teachers;for the perfecting of the saints, to the work of serving, to the building up of the body of Christ,until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,that we may no longer be children, tossed back and forth and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error;

Working together, we entreat also that you do not receive the grace of God in vain,

But we will not boast beyond proper limits, but within the boundaries with which God appointed to us, which reach even to you.For we don’t stretch ourselves too much, as though we didn’t reach to you. For we came even as far as to you with the Good News of Christ,not boasting beyond proper limits in other men’s labors, but having hope that as your faith grows, we will be abundantly enlarged by you in our sphere of influence,
