A demonstration of the Spirit is given to each person to produce what is beneficial:to one is given a message of wisdom through the Spirit, to another, a message of knowledge by the same Spirit,to another, faith by the same Spirit, to another, gifts of healing by the one Spirit,to another, the performing of miracles, to another, prophecy, to another, distinguishing between spirits, to another, different kinds of languages, to another, interpretation of languages.But one and the same Spirit is active in all these, distributing to each person as He wills.

This grace was given to me— the least of all the saints— to proclaim to the Gentiles the incalculable riches of the Messiah,

you have heard, haven’t you, about the administration of God’s grace that He gave to me for you?

According to the grace given to us, we have different gifts: If prophecy, use it according to the standard of one’s faith;if service, in service; if teaching, in teaching;if exhorting, in exhortation; giving, with generosity; leading, with diligence; showing mercy, with cheerfulness.

And God has placed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, next miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, managing, various kinds of languages.Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all do miracles?Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in other languages? Do all interpret?

For God sent Him, and He speaks God’s words, since He gives the Spirit without measure.

To one he gave five talents; to another, two; and to another, one— to each according to his own ability. Then he went on a journey. Immediately

For it says: When He ascended on high, He took prisoners into captivity; He gave gifts to people.But what does“ He ascended” mean except that He descended to the lower parts of the earth?The One who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.And He personally gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers,for the training of the saints in the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ,until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of God’s Son, growing into a mature man with a stature measured by Christ’s fullness.Then we will no longer be little children, tossed by the waves and blown around by every wind of teaching, by human cunning with cleverness in the techniques of deceit.

Working together with Him, we also appeal to you,“ Don’t receive God’s grace in vain.”

We, however, will not boast beyond measure but according to the measure of the area of ministry that God has assigned to us, which reaches even to you.For we are not overextending ourselves, as if we had not reached you, since we have come to you with the gospel of Christ.We are not bragging beyond measure about other people’s labors. But we have the hope that as your faith increases, our area of ministry will be greatly enlarged,
