棄絕故我、不復沉湎聲色、日趨朽壞。

就要脱去你们从前行为上的旧人，这旧人是因私欲的迷惑渐渐变坏的；

你们要脱去从前的行为，脱去旧我；这旧我是因私欲的迷惑而渐渐败坏的。

就应该与从前的生活方式一刀两断，脱去因私欲的迷惑而渐渐败坏的旧人，

就要除去你们那照着从前生活方式而活的旧人。这旧人是随着迷惑人的私欲渐渐败坏的。

为了你们脱去在过去行为上的旧人。这旧人顺着迷惑人的私欲受败坏，

就要脫去你們從前行為上的舊人，這舊人是因私慾的迷惑漸漸變壞的；

你們要脫去從前的行為，脫去舊我；這舊我是因私慾的迷惑而漸漸敗壞的。

你們要脫去從前的行為，脫去舊我；這舊我是因私慾的迷惑而漸漸敗壞的。

就應該與從前的生活方式一刀兩斷，脫去因私慾的迷惑而漸漸敗壞的舊人，

就要除去你們那照著從前生活方式而活的舊人。這舊人是隨著迷惑人的私慾漸漸敗壞的。

你們乃是要脫去那依故態而起居的舊人、順着誘惑人之私慾而漸漸敗壞的舊人，

為了你們脫去在過去行為上的舊人。這舊人順著迷惑人的私慾受敗壞，

爾於夙習之行、宜脫舊人、即以欺罔之慾、而自敗者、

以前此私欲溺志、則革其故態、

當去爾前行、脫爾舊人、即被惑人之嗜慾見壞者、

You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;

You were taught not to live the way you used to. You must get rid of your old way of life. That’s because it has been made impure by the desire for things that lead you astray.

to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires,

throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception.

to take off your former way of life, the old self that is corrupted by deceitful desires,

that, in reference to your former way of life, you are to rid yourselves of the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit,

that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,

that ye put away, as concerning your former manner of life, the old man, that waxeth corrupt after the lusts of deceit;

You took off your former way of life, the old self that is corrupted by deceitful desires;

That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

You were taught with reference to your former way of life to lay aside the old man who is being corrupted in accordance with deceitful desires,

that you put away, as concerning your former way of life, the old man that grows corrupt after the lusts of deceit,

應知吾人之故我、已與之同釘於十字架上；於是罪孽之身、已蕩然毀滅、而吾人不復為罪孽之奴矣。

既有見證如雲、萬目睽睽、監臨左右、吾人尚可不以堅忍之志、奮赴前程、徹除一切障礙、解脫罪孽之羈絆、

是故爾宜滌瑕盪穢、徹私去蔽、以謙誠溫和之意、領受其所植於爾心田之聖道。惟斯道能全爾靈。

是宜痛絕一切惡意、欺詐、虛偽忮心、譖謗、當如新生之嬰、一心愛慕純粹乳汁、日漸月漬、涵養心靈、以邀救恩。

亟宜日相淬勵、乘今日未盡、發憤自新、庶幾爾中無有一人因罪惡之迷溺、而鐵石其心。

是宜棄絕謊言、彼此相見以誠。蓋吾人彼此俱屬一體也。

爾等舊日生活、亦嘗沉溺於此；今望爾等毅然棄絕、亦望蕩滌憤怒嫉恨、舉凡謗誹之言、污穢之語、欺人之詞、慎莫出諸於口。須知爾已棄絕舊人、及其故態、

吾為主故、剴切勸爾、毋復行異邦人之所行、

蓋吾人從前亦昏昧悖逆、徬徨岐途、縱情恣慾、險狠媢嫉；己實可惡、而轉以惡人。

夫過去之日、與世俗同流合污、放縱恣肆、沈湎酒色、崇拜偶像、不已足乎？

作孽反以自受；白晝狂歡、是其所樂；於爾席上、恣其饕餮；

應知爾等之得脫於習俗之羈絆其贖價非屬可朽之金銀、

即爾等之領受割禮、亦在基督之中：惟斯割禮非以人手為之、乃克己去欲之基督割禮也。

當時所全者、惟憂心悄悄、慍於群小之義士羅德一人而已

吾輩過去亦在悖逆之列、縱情恣慾、為所欲為、原屬觸怒之子、與外邦人為一丘之貉。

吾舊日在猶太教中之生活、固爾等所夙聞也。當時吾於天主之教會、迫辱摧殘、無所不用其極；

蓋罪乘隙而入、利用誡命、以陷我於惑、而成我之戮。

若有人自以為虔誠、而不能自制其舌、是為欺心之人、其虔誠偽也。
