其心愚頑、至於今日、讀舊約時、其帕尚存未除、此帕惟賴基督可除、

昔爾不識天主、所事之神、本非天主、

往時世人蒙昧、天主不究、今乃命眾隨在悔改、

求主顧念所立之約、因世界黑暗之處、皆為強暴之巢穴、

耶穌怒目環視、憂眾之心頑、語其人曰、伸爾手、遂伸之、手即愈、如他手、

世既以智不識天主、則天主喜以宣道之愚、救諸信者、此乃天主之智也、

爾以誰比我、配我、擬我、可與我相較哉、人自囊傾金、以衡衡銀、覓銀工、製神像、俯伏崇拜、舉而舁之於肩、置於定處、立而不離其所、呼籲之而不應、亦不能救人於難、爾悖逆之人、當思其事、當自思己乃人也、當心中醒悟、

自信為瞽者之相、在暗者之光、

既心驕氣傲、剛愎自用、乃黜王位、去其尊榮、

今我遣爾往就斯民、並異邦人、必拯爾脫其害、我遣爾為明其目、俾棄暗就光、離撒但之權、歸於天主、使其因信我而罪得赦、於諸聖徒中獲業、

異邦之偶像、或金或銀、悉為人手所造、有口不能言、有目不能視、有耳不能聽、有鼻不能聞、有手不能以捫、有足不能以行、有喉不能以出聲、造偶像與賴偶像者、亦皆與偶像無異、

惟彼不知不悟、目塗不見、心蔽不明、心不思維、無識無知、獨不自問曰、此木之半、我焚之於火、在其炭上炊餅炙肉而食、則其所餘、豈可用作可憎之偶像、豈可俯伏而拜塊木乎、彼如以灰為食、中心昏昧、入於迷途、不知自救、不自曰、我右手所作、悉屬虛妄、
