他們的意念變為黑暗，因著那在自己裡面的愚昧無知和心裡的剛硬，就與神的生命隔絕了；

他们心地昏昧，与神所赐的生命隔绝了，都因自己无知，心里刚硬；

他們心神昏暗，因自己裏面的無知、因心中的頑梗、而跟上帝的生命隔絕。

彼心思蒙昧、外乎上帝之生、因其無知而心頑也、

心思蒙昧、頑囂無知、棄上帝生命之道、

其心蒙昩、愚頑無知、而棄天主生命之道、

意志虛妄、理智昏昧、冥頑不靈、而自絕於天主之生命。

They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.

They can’t understand the truth. They are separated from the life of God. That’s because they don’t know him. And they don’t know him because their hearts are stubborn.

They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart.

Their minds are full of darkness; they wander far from the life God gives because they have closed their minds and hardened their hearts against him.

所以人是已經知道神的，但是卻不把他當做神來榮耀他，也不感謝他；相反，他們在思想上變得虛妄，他們無知的心就昏暗了。他們自稱是有智慧的，卻成了愚拙，甚至用偶像，就是會朽壞的人、飛禽、走獸、爬行動物的形像，來取代那不朽之神的榮耀。

那時候，你們與基督無關；被排除在以色列國民之外；在那些所應許的諸約上是外人；在這世界上沒有盼望、沒有神。

因為這子民的心麻木了，他們充耳不聞，眼睛閉著；免得他們眼睛看見，耳朵聽見，心裡領悟，回轉過來，我就使他們痊癒。』

「神使他們瞎了眼，硬了心，免得他們眼睛看見，心裡明白，回轉過來，我就使他們痊癒。」

而不要像那些不認識神的外邦人那樣，放縱邪情私慾；

從前，你們在邪惡的行為中與神隔絕，在意念中與他為敵；

對於他們，這世代的神把這些不信之人的心眼弄瞎了，使他們不能洞察基督榮耀的福音之光。基督就是神的形像。

你們這些淫亂的人哪！難道你們不知道，與世界為友，就是與神為敵嗎？所以，如果有人想要和世界做朋友，他就成了神的仇敵！

弟兄們，我不願意你們不明白這奧祕，免得你們自以為聰明。這奧祕就是：以色列人中的部分人變得剛硬，直到外邦人的全數滿足了，

既然人不願意真正認識神，神就任憑他們存敗壞的理性，去做那些不該做的事。

可是，他們的心思剛硬；事實上，直到今天誦讀舊約的時候，同樣的帕子仍然存在，沒有被揭去，因為那帕子只有在基督裡才被除去。

原來屬肉體的思想是敵對神的，因為它不服從神的律法，其實也不能服從；並且，屬肉體的人無法得到神的喜悅。

從前，你們不認識神的時候，固然給那些本性上不是神的做了奴僕，

「雖然神並不鑒察那愚昧無知的時代，但如今卻吩咐各處所有的人都要悔改，

求你顧念所立的約，因為強暴的居所遍布在大地的黑暗之處。

耶穌憤怒地環視他們，又為他們心裡剛硬而憂傷，就對那個人說：「伸出手來！」他一伸出來，手就復原了。

實際上，在神的智慧中，世界既然憑智慧不認識神，神就樂意藉著傳道的愚拙，拯救那些相信的人。

「你們把我比作誰，使我與誰等同呢？你們把我與誰相比，我與誰就同等了嗎？那些不惜從錢袋裡倒出金子，用天平稱出銀子的人，雇用金匠造出神像，然後俯伏下拜。他們把神像抬起，扛在肩上，又把它安置就位；它就在那裡呆立不動。儘管人向它呼求，它也不回應，更不能拯救人脫離患難。「你們這些叛逆的人哪，當記念這事，心志堅定，留心反思！

又深信自己是瞎子的領路人，是在黑暗中人的光，

然而，他心裡高舉自己，靈裡變得剛硬，以致行事狂傲，就從王權的寶座上被廢黜，他的尊榮也被奪去了。

我要從以色列子民和外邦人當中把你救出來。我差派你到他們那裡去，為了開啟他們的眼睛，使他們從黑暗歸向光明，從撒旦的權勢下歸向神，使他們因著信我，罪得赦免，並且與那些被分別為聖的人同得繼業。』

列國的偶像是銀的、金的，是人手所造的：它們有嘴卻不能說，有眼卻不能看；有耳卻不能聽，有鼻卻不能聞；有手卻不能摸，有腳卻不能走，也不能用喉嚨發出聲音。那些造它們的、所有依靠它們的，都會像它們那樣。

這樣的人不明白，也不領悟，因為耶和華蒙蔽他們的眼使他們不能看見，蒙蔽他們的心使他們不能明悟。他們不反思，也沒有知識和聰慧來說：「我用一半的木頭燒火，又在火炭上烘餅，烤肉吃。我怎麼能用剩下的木頭製造可憎之物呢？我怎麼能向一塊木頭膜拜呢？」他們追求的只是灰燼；他們的心受了迷惑，使他們偏離正道；他們不能救自己，也不會說：「我右手中的，難道不是虛謊之物嗎？」
