From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

He makes the whole body grow and build itself up in love. Under the control of Christ, each part of the body does its work. It supports the other parts. In that way, the body is joined and held together.

from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.

He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.

My goal is that their hearts, having been knit together in love, may be encouraged, and that they may have all the riches that assurance brings in their understanding of the knowledge of the mystery of God, namely, Christ,

Now on the topic of brotherly love you have no need for anyone to write you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another.And indeed you are practicing it toward all the brothers and sisters in all of Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more,

to equip the saints for the work of ministry, that is, to build up the body of Christ,

And I pray this, that your love may abound even more and more in knowledge and every kind of insight

But practicing the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ, who is the head.

But the aim of our instruction is love that comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith.

that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, so that, because you have been rooted and grounded in love,

And so we too constantly thank God that when you received God’s message that you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human message, but as it truly is, God’s message, which is at work among you who believe.

Love is patient, love is kind, it is not envious. Love does not brag, it is not puffed up.It is not rude, it is not self- serving, it is not easily angered or resentful.It is not glad about injustice, but rejoices in the truth.It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.Love never ends. But if there are prophecies, they will be set aside; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be set aside.For we know in part, and we prophesy in part,

I became a servant of this gospel according to the gift of God’s grace that was given to me by the exercise of his power.

For just as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body– though many– are one body, so too is Christ.For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body. Whether Jews or Greeks or slaves or free, we were all made to drink of the one Spirit.For in fact the body is not a single member, but many.If the foot says,“ Since I am not a hand, I am not part of the body,” it does not lose its membership in the body because of that.And if the ear says,“ Since I am not an eye, I am not part of the body,” it does not lose its membership in the body because of that.If the whole body were an eye, what part would do the hearing? If the whole were an ear, what part would exercise the sense of smell?But as a matter of fact, God has placed each of the members in the body just as he decided.If they were all the same member, where would the body be?So now there are many members, but one body.The eye cannot say to the hand,“ I do not need you,” nor in turn can the head say to the foot,“ I do not need you.”On the contrary, those members that seem to be weaker are essential,and those members we consider less honorable we clothe with greater honor, and our unpresentable members are clothed with dignity,but our presentable members do not need this. Instead, God has blended together the body, giving greater honor to the lesser member,so that there may be no division in the body, but the members may have mutual concern for one another.If one member suffers, everyone suffers with it. If a member is honored, all rejoice with it.Now you are Christ’s body, and each of you is a member of it.And God has placed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, gifts of healing, helps, gifts of leadership, different kinds of tongues.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

because we recall in the presence of our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and endurance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

You have purified your souls by obeying the truth in order to show sincere mutual love. So love one another earnestly from a pure heart.

For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity to indulge your flesh, but through love serve one another.For the whole law can be summed up in a single commandment, namely,“ You must love your neighbor as yourself.”

With regard to food sacrificed to idols, we know that“ we all have knowledge.” Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.

We ought to thank God always for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith flourishes more and more and the love of each one of you all for one another is ever greater.

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision carries any weight– the only thing that matters is faith working through love.
